After a 1-2 start pretty much everyone has written off Hawk’s 10 win prediction.  But it could still happen.  Here’s how:

West Virginia has no doubt seen the CSU and Toledo nationally televised footage, but they maybe didn’t see the Wyoming game.  So maybe they overlook the Buffs and our full offense takes shape.  Think Scott, Stewart, Sumler, Scotty, Simas, Simmons…mmmm…Buffs 17 WVU 14 (2-2)

Texas…well ok they don’t get this one (2-3)

Back home against KU?  For the first time ever CU defense makes Todd Reesing look human.  The offense continues to get better and the Buffs win a shootout….Buffs 41  KU 31 (3-3)

At KState used to be a test, but these days KStates rebuilding effort makes Hawk look like good.  The Buffs get over .500 for the first time all season.  CU 28 KSU 10 (4-3)

Mizzou comes to town and CU’s D comes up big against a team that has torched them the past two seasons.  Blane Gabbert’s season takes a turn for the worse as he throws 4 picks and the Buffs prevail.  CU 35 Mizzou 21 (5-3)

When Texas A&M comes to town they find the Buffs very confident and riding a winning streak.  The Buffs keep rolling and become bowl elligible.  CU 41 A&M 10 (6-3)

In recent years trips to Ames have not been kind to the Buffs.  This year things get back to normal, but ISU puts up quite the fight.  CU 21 ISU 17 (7-3)

The Cowboys of Oklahoma State were on everyone’s radar to start the year, then Houston popped their bubble.  OSU is good, but at this point of the season no Big 12 team is hotter than the Buffs.  CU 27 OSU 21 (8-3)

Finally Nebraska comes calling.  CU 45 NU 3 (9-3)

That earns the Buffs a birth in the Big 12 title game, which I don’t see them winning against Texas or OU. (9-4)

But they do win the bowl game, Holliday or Cotton maybe, to finish 10-4.  I believe.
