Although it is late on the very first day of the 2009 college football season, there is already some good news for the Buffs in an odd sort of way. Where did this news come from? The Oregon vs. Boise State game tonight.

While the entire game wasn’t the most graceful football to watch, it was interesting to see Oregon struggle so much on offense. Then I realized why, and the answer is part of the reason why we should have a more productive offense this season. Mark Helfrich is now at Oregon. I saw the same type of play calling we struggled through while he was here at CU. It was very similar to how our offense has failed over the time Helfrich was here. That is why I’m excited to see what our new offensive coordinator, Eric Kiesau, will bring to our offense this year. But I’m sure it will be good change after watching Oregon struggle so much tonight.

2 Days…. GO BUFFS!
