Oh ya… CSU Hires….
filed in Coaching on Dec.12, 2007
The ex-CSU QB and assistant coach Steve Fairchild. He has never been a Head Coach at any level. He is currently the NFL Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator. The Bills offense has been nothing special with two young QBs, but they are contending for a playoff spot. Interesting hire. I don’t see this as an exciting one, but I see no reason why the guy can’t be competent. I am interested to see what he does in the recruiting area, since he will not take over until after the NFL season…

I think this is a good hire for them, he has coached at CSU before and went to school there so he should be able to recruit. This will keep the program fairly stable after a force out of Sonny Lubick. As always, except when they play the Buffs, I wish CSU the best.

I think this is a perfect fit for CSU and a good move. This recruiting class will be very rough, but I imagine the next one will be better with his NFL experience and connections. Plus his in-state connections shouldn’t be all that stale either.
I hope they do great, but I also hope that by the time he gets CSU’s ship righted we will be back in the National Championship hunt and more than a match for the Rams. (Really, no offense meant to the Ram faithful who might be reading.)
