• Jordan Dizon has been named a semi-finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award (1 of 15), which goes to the best Defensive player of the season. He is already a semi-finalist for the Dick Butkus award, which goes to the top linebacker in the nation. Break some heads Dizon!
UPDATE: As noted by Papa in the comments, Dizon was selected to be a finalist for the Butkus award today!
• There is a SWEET article in the Des Moines Times that talks about some of the really strange history in this matchup. Also, they have an excellent (AWESOME!) quote by Coach Hawk at the end….
• The Clone Chronicles thinks that CU is ranked #10 in the Big XII (One behind ISU… Strange since they have 2 wins… Total). They also think they have a good chance to win by 2 touchdowns. I humbly disagree.
• On Monday, Coach Hawk apologized to all the fans of the Buffs for the spanking he received from Mizzou on his blog. He also has some thoughts about ISU, and tellingly, only mentions how hard they battle and very little about the talent he is scared of (as in, none:).
• Fox Sports thinks that CU will be playing Tulsa of all people in the Texas bowl on Dec. 28th. Say it with me folks… screw Texas! Although its nice they think we are going to beat ISU and Nebraska.
• CNNSI ranks us at 44 in the nation… Not bad considering our record.

Update: Dizon is now one of three finalists for the Butkus award. Lets hope he finishes strong and brings some hardware to Boulder!!

How nice would be if Dizon won the Butkus. That would make 3 (?) for CU. ISU is going to be jacked up for this. Not a fun situation. I sure hope the Buffs got tired of all the down talk, and pull up their sacks and HIT someone. Like Ryan Black in ‘96. That little dude could smack fools! Jashon Sykes could smack ‘em up too, til he got the neck injury. AT LEAST HAWKINS HAS THE GUTS TO BLAME HIS STAFF AND HIMSELF, UNLIKE BARNETT. So whoever said he (Hawkins) brings some integrity to the dept, Yes, you heard it hear, I agree with you.
