Its Thursday, the game is still 2 days away, and we are getting a little anxious around here. To take the edge off I am going to put up a random assortment of Buff facts and links for your reading pleasure….
UPDATE: Darrel Scott is visiting CU this weekend for the Mizzou Game. He is the Number 1 RB and #4 Overall rated Recruit in the nation…. And the nephew of Josh Smith. New Gameplan: Throw the ball to Josh Smith and Run the ball on every other play. He visits Texas Next week… DONT LET HIM LEAVE WITHOUT A COMMIT!
Buff-Fact #1: A Google search for the term “CU Buffs” Brings up the Buffs Official site first…. but 2nd is none other then us, Buffs TV! Thats right folks, we are the #1 unofficial Buffalo fan site (tm!). According to Google anyways…
Buff-Fact #2: The Buffs have their 10th recruit, this time on the Oline! Ryan Dannewitz Commited yesterday, even though he has officially only visited BCS ranked Oregon and was planning to visit Louisville… That Grimes can spit some game! This guy is a 3 star OT, is 6-6 and 265. A bit big for the Zone-Blocking scheme the Buffs run, but if he has the quickness, he could be dominant even with that low weight. I am excited to see what he can do once he spends a year in the Strength Program. Welcome Dannewitz to the Stampede! (and shorten your last name to something easy to spell please. Ex: Dizon. Love it, live it)
Buff-Fact #3: The Buffs lead the nation in 4th down attempts and 4th down TD’s (23 and 4), but are only ranked 64th in conversion % (47.8) and 11th in Successful attempts (11).
Buff-Link #1: The Sports Network has a nice little preview of the Mizzou game this week. Frankly, the only thing I didn’t like about the article is that they mention that Mizzou leads the all time series… Expect that to change with Hawk in charge! I think the only “High” these Tigers will get is the kind that people insist everybody gets in Boulder.
Buff-Link #2: According to the Computers, the Buffs have played the 3rd hardest schedule in the nation says the Denver Post. And we haven’t even played #9 Mizzou yet!
Buff-Link #3: Apparently, Chase Daniel is the Spawn of Satan… But thats ok, this won’t be a night game so his powers will not be at their best. Glowing eyes really don’t help you then! And he is welcome to challenge our corners, because Mr. NFL Wheatley is there, which brings us to our final Buff fact!
Buff-Thingy Final: Tyrone Mr. NFL Wheatley was named the Nagurski National Player of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America for his 3 INT performance while playing against the best receiver in college football, Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech. And it should have been four. Come on Wheatley, you can do better!
Thats all folks!
