Another rough week for the editors as only Hawk was able to do better than .500. Maybe BK was smart to head out of town for this part of the schedule. I was curious how the Big XII teams have done against the spread this year, so I put together this little table:

Baylor 3-5
Colorado 4-4
Iowa State 3-4
Kansas 6-0
Kansas State 5-1
Missouri 6-0
Nebraska 1-7
Oklahoma 4-4
Oklahoma State 4-3
Texas 4-4
Texas A&M 4-4
Texas Tech 4-3

In putting together the record for each team, I left out any games against 1-AA teams that didn’t have a point spread. It’s interesting that Kansas and Mizzou are both perfect against the spread this season. The Huskers on the other had, only covered the spread in their first game against Nevada. You can chalk part of their record up to the ridiculous fact that they were favored the last two weeks.
UPDATE: I miscounted the Kansas/Kansas State game. Kansas is 6-0, while Kansas State is 5-1. Whew, glad I got that corrected.
Anyway, on to the games for this week:
Baylor (+24.5) @Kansas State – If this game were in Waco, the Bears may have had a chance to cover. I don’t see that happening in Manhattan.

Colorado (+13.5) @Texas Tech
– My heart has me picking the Buffs in this one, but I am concerned about their ability to both score points and keep the Tech offense in check. While the Buffs have played well against Tech in Boulder, I don’t think they’ve ever won in Lubbock. I’m not sure what to think about this one…
Iowa State (+28.5) @Missouri – Missouri is on a mission and the Cyclones can’t do anything to stop it.

Kansas (-2.5) @Texas A&M
– While Kansas is a good team, I wasn’t fully impressed with them against the Buffs last week. I think CU had a number of opportunities to win that game and the Jayhawks made a number of mistakes. While KU got their first real road game last week, College Station is like another world. I think the Aggies manage to pull the upset.

Nebraska (+21) @Texas
– Wow. Nebraska as a 21-point underdog? When was the last time that happened? It isn’t enough, Texas rolls the Huskers.
