Buffs Host Jayhawks
filed in Pre-game on Oct.18, 2007
I’m done licking the wounds from last weekend and have put some things into perspective. The Buffs are a young team coming off of a 2 win season. To have already won 4 games this year including a huge upset of Oklahoma is quite an improvement indeed. Reality tells me that the Buffs will probably lose a few more games this year, but there’s still some good shots for some wins.
This Saturday the Colorado Buffs (4-2, 2-1 Big 12) will host the #15 ranked Kansas Jayhawks (6-0, 2-0 Big 12) at Folsom Field. The Jayhawks had a laughably weak non-conference schedule which certainly has contributed to their unbeaten season. Their toughest game to date was a 6 point win over Kansas State on the road. That said, they should present quite a challenge for Colorado.
Kansas is averaging over 515 ypg offense and putting up an average of 50 ppg. Compare that to the Buffs’ averages of 384 ypg and 26 ppg. If the game were played on paper, the Jayhawks would be easy winners. However, I believe that the Buffs will show a little bit of resiliency by turning around after a tough loss and putting on a show for the home crowd. Look for Cody Hawkins to be more patient when passing this week and avoid throwing into double coverage. Go Buffs!

Am I reading this right that CU is favored by 1.5?
So much for #15 KU.

I’m not sure where you’re seeing that CU is favored. The lines I’ve seen are KU by 3.5 or 4.

Did anyone see the KSU/KU Game? Well KU should have lost. But hindsight is 20/20. The “Fatman” has sure got some ballers, but they have not left the state of Kansas for a game. You know we cannot pass, so hopefully Hugh will bring his A-Game again. Can Helfrich work in a couple of gimme passes this game? How bout a bubble screen or a pass to the TE? Lets get Cody some rythem. Not blues. And the counter run play versus our run defense. You heard it here, OU/KSU/FSU did it, why won’t KU. We gave up big yardage. The counter play works like a hot knife through butta! Fix it Collins!

yesterday betonsportsonline.com had CU favored by 1.5. Today, KU by 2.5. Either way, I don’t get how KU gets so many highly ranked votes while nobody seems to put their money where their mouth is…
