I’m done licking the wounds from last weekend and have put some things into perspective. The Buffs are a young team coming off of a 2 win season. To have already won 4 games this year including a huge upset of Oklahoma is quite an improvement indeed. Reality tells me that the Buffs will probably lose a few more games this year, but there’s still some good shots for some wins.
This Saturday the Colorado Buffs (4-2, 2-1 Big 12) will host the #15 ranked Kansas Jayhawks (6-0, 2-0 Big 12) at Folsom Field. The Jayhawks had a laughably weak non-conference schedule which certainly has contributed to their unbeaten season. Their toughest game to date was a 6 point win over Kansas State on the road. That said, they should present quite a challenge for Colorado.
Kansas is averaging over 515 ypg offense and putting up an average of 50 ppg. Compare that to the Buffs’ averages of 384 ypg and 26 ppg. If the game were played on paper, the Jayhawks would be easy winners. However, I believe that the Buffs will show a little bit of resiliency by turning around after a tough loss and putting on a show for the home crowd. Look for Cody Hawkins to be more patient when passing this week and avoid throwing into double coverage. Go Buffs!
