Why cannot Cody Hawkins throw to the middle of the field? He never dumps it off to the tight end? And why does Helfrich never come up with a few "gimme" passes, short dumpoffs or screens, to help Cody gain some rythem and confidence? For a coaches son, he sure does not "manage" the game well. The one thing he was supposed to do. We better pray we don't have a "Joel Klatt" scenario, were we have no compitetion at QB for 3 more years. We need someone else to get on the field as well, to stir things up a bit. But you cannot blame the O-Line. You students better not "Egg" his Boulder home!

Great points Oregonbuff. We are on our way back to the top, we aren't there yet. The OK game had us all feeling pretty cocky and now we are forced back into reality which can be a bit jarring. But our reality is better than most. The future is so bright I gotta wear shades.
Go Buffs!

If you read all over the Buffs blogs (this is the best)you can sense the despondency. Let not your heart be troubled Buffs fans. Put things in perspective for a minute. You have a team that had zero chance of moving the ball last year. This year we can see what lies ahead. On the running game Sumler is gaining confidence, Lochridge and Moyd will contribute, if some blue chip recruits get it together in the classroom they will have a chance. Let's hope we can land a certain five star stud out of California as well (if you've seen his highlight reel you know he's a freak). Passing game we know that Cody is a leader. There's a good connection with McKnight, Smith, and let's not forget Geer. Williams should contribute next year as well. All would be for nothing without a hole blasting offensive line. On the defense we'll lose Dizon but we've got one of the greatest defensive minds in the nation with Cabral so don't wave the white flag on them.
Point being. A game like K-State for this team was inevitable. The opportunity is to realize that even though progress has been made there is a ton of work to do. the CU Buffs program is a national championship caliber program. These guys will realize that and at some point (not this year) will "pop", as Coach Hawk likes to say.
The choice is to hold or fold. I beleive they'll continue to improve and bring the swagger back to Folsom. Go Buffs!

I can live with the 4th down calls because without those calls we never beat OU. What I can't live with is a quarterback throwing into double coverage time after time. And the penalties, they were there against Baylor yet nothing was done to address the problem against KState. The run was nice while it lasted, but I must say this is the team I expected to see this year so it is not a total shocker.
