Game Day – KState
filed in Game Day on Oct.13, 2007
I’m out here in Maui for a couple weeks and I forgot how great it is to roll out of bed to college football. Especially to see Nebraska get their ass handed to them again.
Go Buffs!

A shot at the corn holers? The way we’re playing, you should be able to put up 600 yards on us. Piss poor coaching…

You fire the AD yet? Seems like he’s had it coming for some time now…

well, this game was coming with this young team. They made zero () mistakes. CU made a ton. Good to see Hugh running like that. The new offensive line makeup seems to be dominant inside, but rough on the pass protection.
Positives? Jfly looks to be a huge deep threat for us for the next 4 years.
Cody should shrug this off. This game was coming for him, and he was definitely off on quite a few deep throws. That first pick should have gone to Jfly for a big gain, but was missthrown.
With an offense like ours, QB days like this are going to happen. The deep ball giveth, and it taketh away.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Hawkins decision to go for it on 4th down. (I tell myself that’s what we have to expect with Hawkins, he’s a gambler.) We lost the field position battle the entire game. Also, our play calling seemed very basic (how many times can we send Hawkins in motion, direct snap to Charles and run off tackle?) I just kept waiting for the offense to click…….it just never happened. The game was definitely closer than the score reflects, I think our boys just gave up. Can we play all of our games in the afternoon? We don’t seem to fair too well at night.
Still, I remain optimistic about the direction and future of this team. Like Skye said, we had to know days like this were coming. We’re a very young team, but we’re going to be alright.
Bring on the Jayhawks!!!

I think everyone is so glad we have a coach with some guts and determination to actually make the changes that increase our chances of winning that we’re willing to overlook it when the gambles don’t pay off and the losses are a little tougher than they could have been.
