It was a tough week last week for the editors as Kansas beat KState, OU failed to cover, and Oklahoma State almost upset A&M. Let’s hope for a better performance this week (BK apparently forgot how to use email this week, so no picks from him. I’ll post them if he gets them to me before game time tomorrow). On to the games:
Baylor (+25.5) @Kansas – Kansas showed that they can beat a real team last week and, as a prize, they get Baylor this week. Kansas can put up points in bunches and Baylor continues to struggle, but 25.5 is a big number. I think Kansas gets out big, but Baylor hangs around just enough to cover.
Colorado (+5.5) @Kansas State – Colorado is looking at it’s first big conference road test this week and the Wildcats will be angry about the loss last week to the Jayhawks. This game will go along way in showing us what these two teams are made of. While I’m plenty nervous about the game, I’m still a homer and picking a CU victory.
@Iowa State (+16) Texas – While Texas has been struggling, Iowa State is just plain bad. I think Texas gets out some of its frustration on the Cyclones on Saturday.
Missouri (+10.5) @ Oklahoma – In the big matchup of the week, the conferences top two ranked teams square off in Norman. Missouri looked impressive last week against the Huskers, but I think there are a number of teams that are going to look good against the Huskers this year (Ball State?). Oklahoma is coming off of the hard-fought win over Texas and wants to prove that they are still the class of the Big 12. While I think OU gets the win on its home field, I think Missouri keeps it close.
@Nebraska (-4) Oklahoma State – I assume it’s because they’re playing at home, but somehow the Huskers are favored by 4 in this one. Unless they worked a miracle in practice this week, the NU defense can’t figure out how to cover, tackle, or put pressure on the QB. I think the Corn is in for a long rest of the season and it continues with a loss to the Cowboys this week.
Texas A&M (+8.5) @Texas Tech – I’m not a believer in Texas A&M. They keep doing just enough to win, but that’s going to bite them in the ass this weekend. I think Tech rolls over A&M.
