Buffs.tv Blogpoll – Week 6
filed in Rankings on Oct.09, 2007
I’m calling do-over. Unhappy with my ballot last week, I’ve completely revamped my rankings (ok, not completely, but there are some big changes) to better fit how I feel the teams shake out. South Florida and Hawaii drop down to better fit their strength of schedules, while Oklahoma gets to move back up as I think I penalized them too much last week. Kansas takes over for Kansas State after winning in Manhattan, and Missouri secured it’s spot in the Top 10. I gave them a one spot bump just for the sweet fake field goal in the fourth quarter, as there’s nothing like rubbing it in against Nebraska. Also, the Buffs get to keep their #25 after taking care of business in Waco. Anyway, feel free to make comments on how you think this should really look. Tomorrow morning, the combined poll with comments should be posted at mgoblog while just the poll is posted here.
* I’ve made three edits since the original posting:
1. USC is now down to #9
2. I dropped Georgia from the poll as the blowout by Tennessee was just too much. Auburn takes their place, but I don’t feel real good about that one either.
3. I dropped Texas from the poll as I just don’t believe they have much. I’m giving a little love to Indiana in the Longhorn’s place.

Biggest upset in the history of vegas betting lines and you drop USC only 4 spots? They have been on the ropes for weeks and have beaten basically nobody (yes, nebraska is nobody)

I struggled with what to do with USC. Would they lose to both Missouri and South Florida? West Virginia? Surely not South Carolina. I know that anything can happen on any game day, but I have to rank them based on what I think would happen most of the time. You’re right though, I think I’ll go back and drop them a couple of more spots.
