“His players”…what? Seems that “his” players on the CU squad should start playing Big 12 football. Boozy State is known for getting the most out of their kids, regardless of talent, not like the CU patsys that make boosters think twice.
Bowden said “Spock” screwed up last year by giving these Doogie Howser ball players a disservice by not weening them off Barnetts system and gradually introducing “Spocks”. Hindsight is 20/20, foresight says “Your Fired Spock!”

Note to comment #1… The one good year Barnett had, he pulled in a #7 in the nation recruiting class. To bad he couldn’t coach it that well. As far as Hawkins not being able to recruit, I would say a top 40 recuriting class with a 2 and 10 record is pretty good. Lets see how he does this year with a mediocre record before judging anything. His players DID beat Oklahoma last year.

Talk about 1 dimensional on offense. We were worse than that. When you can’t run the ball and you don’t throw the ball over the middle, the only thing left to cover is the flats.
Point of note, the only touchdown came over the middle. we should remember that for later

Helfrich needs to stop reading Shawn Watsons biography. Its seems to me that the brains behind the Boise Offense is Chris Petersen, the one that stayed behind. How about recruiting some players that are elgible? How bad is Hugh Charles? and Patrick Williams, Robinson and Sprague? Makes you yearn for Neuheisel. At least his teams had a little punch. I feel bad for the current students, living off lucky Barnett and Coach Mac’s legacy. Mike Bohn, if the water ain’t hot, the logs are forming around the kettle.
And Hawkins? Did you see how bad he looked at halftime? Did he have a hangover from Friday night’s frat party? Expect more crap because like Barnett, he cannot recruit.
