Buffs.tv Big XII Editor Pick ‘Em — Week 3
filed in Pick'Em on Sep.13, 2007 by Gampp
We’re back with our week 3 picks after a fairly solid week last week (I was the only one under .500). Through two weeks, all of the editors are at or over .500 with BK and Ryno leading the pack. A few notes about the week 3 picks:
- For the first time this season, one of the editors has picked against the Buffs (boo Nick). Skye, Marc, and I are trying to counter that pick with upset win projections. What’s the point of doing this website if you can’t be a homer?
- Despite being burned by Iowa State twice (including a loss to a 1-AA team), some of the editors are sticking with the Cyclones. Suckers.
- The Kansas State game is being treated as a pick ‘em game as there is no line since Missouri State is a 1-AA team. Lame.

After last week this team has a long way to go to get me to pick them again. I still want them to win and will pull for them to do so, just can’t pick that way when I have 4 games to make up after two weeks.

still more unrealistic expectations for this terrible football team.

Baal and all the other people that leave worthless comments,
Let me make sure the “superior academics” at CU paid off for me. You don’t like the Buffs. You don’t like this site. You don’t like the opinions given on this site. You disagree with and despise everything this site is about. Yet, everyday you take time to come to this site, read what we have to say about the Buffs and then remind us how much you hate doing so. And we’re the clueless homer douches?
An interesting fact about this site is that it’s dedicated to Buffs football. Sure, perhaps the address, color scheme, header graphics and content don’t make that obvious enough for all levels of visitors. But this site is not meant to be an impartial collection of musings about football in general. This is a site about Colorado Buffalo football designed and supported by Buffs fans. That’s not to say we don’t revel, even thrive, off having good, healthy debates about our opinions, about the state of Buffs football and/or about upcoming or past games. We welcome fans from other teams at Buffs.tv. We want to have constructive and even, dare I say, thought provoking conversations about Buffs football. But we don’t have any interest in hearing about how much you hate the Buffs or this site or the people on this site. That’s not constructive, that’s not thought provoking, and that’s not what we’re here to do.
I’ll be the first to admit that as a loyal fan I have a tendency to be just a little biased; and that’s how it’s supposed to be. If your zeal for your team doesn’t help shape your perspective you are what they call a “fair weather fan.” I’m not a fair weather fan. My loyalty to, and appreciation of, Buffalo football will skew how I talk about Buffalo football. I’m real enough to call out mistakes and admit when we’ve played poorly. But I’m not going to jump ship and give up hope for the future. Not after a rough game. Not after a rough season. Not even after (God forbid) a rough decade. If you can’t appreciate what it’s like to support a team like that you probably also don’t have anything worthwhile to contribute to this site. We’re looking for insightful comments from informed fans, no matter what team you support.
If you have something intelligent and worthwhile to say, shout it out. If you just want to tell us how dumb this site is, stop supporting it with your visits.
