The Buffs are working to schedule a 2 Home and 2 Away series with the University of Hawaii. The negotiation is in its very early stages, but we might see the Warriors in 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015. That sounds like a fun time to me.
June Jones and Jerry Glanville once drank at my bar in Maui all afternoon. We chatted it up, but nobody mentioned we might be getting together in the near future.
As an aside: I know we have not been the most responsive editorial staff this spring and I want to apologize. But I am starting to feel it again. I think that Buffs fever might strike early and often over the rest of the year. Finally I’d like to welcome Maxwell Gampp to the team

Let’s get this season on the road! Let’s see, a good starting point… the Buffs will suck even more *ss than last year. Hawk is the biggest joke in the conference. Love how CU wants to hold on to the recruiting game, as if that’s some kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Meanwhile the Huskers have a superstar quarterback recruit in Gabbert for 08 and a stack of Top 100 national players lining up. Looks like the Big Red will dominate the Buffettes for the foreseeable future. Poor CU. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving program. Bite me Ralphette!…

I could go to jail for a Hate Crime if I walked into Lincoln. Lets face it…Nebraska sucks, they still have not beat any top 10 team, and Callahan’s offensive schemes will be gamed next season. I will give Nebraska props, for finally getting away from the K-State schedule and playing USC, WAKE and Nevada. Watch Nevada win or cover. RE: Wake Forest, You know that Cornhead AD scheduled this 10 years ago when Wake couldnt beat Ball State. But at least Nebraska gets Ball State this year. USC, gimme a break…NU LOSS.
@Colorado + @Missouri + @Texas= Butt Kicking
Fun Moment in life was waking up hungover a few years ago, and watching BRAD SMITH run over and around those Chucksters…how many yards did he put up? 200 hundy on the ground, 200 hundy in the air? Blackshirts greatest day! Hey but who cares about crappy MU. Brad never did that vs. the Buffs.
GABBERT? whos cares, he will transfer like Joe Dailey. He will probley get hurt vs. Nicholls State in 09, then limp back to Missouri, because Callahan will be fired by then.
Bottom Line: Mountains rule, flatlanders eat stool!

Hey Kid,
Could you be any more of an idiot? Yeah, yeah, Nebraska sucks, that’s why they are ranked in every pre-season poll. And that’s why they have had Top 15 recruiting classes the last 3 years in a row. And that’s why they have absolutely raped CU the last couple of years (actually throughout the history of the conference to be more precise).
Who cares about Gabbert huh? He’s only the most coveted dual threat high school quarterback in the country right now, who happens to be so committed to the Huskers that he has basically joined the recruiting staff at NU to bring in even more top tier players in his class. You bring up Joe Dailey. Dailey was a hack who had no place in the NU mid-west coast offense. How about Sam Keller? Do you really think there is any chance CU will not get blown out by one of the best west-coast future NFL quarterbacks in the country this year? The Buffettes got utterly blown out by Zac Taylor who was not even in the same league as Keller or Gabbert! Things get better and better for Nebraska and they are back in the national spotlight where they will continue to improve and rise. So, I’m sure you’re right about Callahan getting fired. That’s why the program is getting ready to announce a huge extension to his contract along with a sizable raise.
The fact that the Missouri game of a few years ago gets you off is oh so pathetic in so so many ways. Pretty sorry times in Buffalo land when that’s what you have to lean on to get down on the Huskers.
You’re a joke, the Buffs are by far the worst team in the conference and I for one cannot wait until the day after Thanksgiving for another nationally televised drubbing. Maybe you guys should first focus on winning more than 2 games in a season before talking smack about a team that owns you!…

MISERY=Huskers Fan
What really gets me is that “RB” thinks he is right? Acting like NU finished in the Top 10, uhhh not even the top 25. Living off the past.
Come uppins are sure in order for you boy.
You are jealous you couldnt hack it at CU.
Its easy to talk smack when NU stole half of Barnetts crappy coaching staff…good riddence, they will stink up that sty called Memorial.
Wish we could play Nichols state, LA Tech and Troy like those big bad Chucksters. PLAY A MANS SCHEDULE LITTLE GIRLS. Who did NU beat last year? Texas AM by a point? (Can you say refs)
Whoa, thats your biggest win, Next to CU of course. Whoopee. And without those 3 easy wins?… Fartsville. Sure counter with Montana State, they were all on Crack.
When CU beats FSU on national TV, What will NU fans say? WE SHOULD HAVE A SCHEDULE LIKE THAT.
May 31st, 2007 on 9:41 am
Kid, I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the Buffs, but you may be border line delusional right now. We’ve got another tough year ahead of us – I’m hoping for 7-5 or maybe even 8-4. Nebraska SHOULD walk away with the Big 12 North title this year, and if they don’t it would be an utter failure.
Go Buffs!
June 5th, 2007 on 6:38 pm
Kid Buffaloe epitomizes the typical CU fan.
No one in this thread said Nebraska finished in the top 10 in recent years. Have they continued to improve with Coach Callahan every single year in every aspect of the program? Of course! Transforming their system was not an overnight proposition. Their record has gotten better and better and better with every single season. Where are the Buffs? Uh yeah, that’s what I thought…
And I love how you talk about the Huskers ooc schedule. Nebraska has THE toughest out of conference schedule in the Big 12 (maybe you need to take a look at Rivals.com or ESPN?). No other team in the country has played both the #1 and #2 teams in the past two years in a row. Nebraska had Texas beat last year until the very last moments of the game, with only Zac Taylor. Sam Keller is 50 times the NFL style QB and will annihilate UT. Even USC certainly didn’t blow out Nebraska the way CU was blown out by the Huskers the past couple of years.
Kid, you are an embarassment to the Buffs fans that actually understand and know the game and the state of the conference.
Do you really think that Nebraska’s amazing recruiting successes of late, including the number 1 quarterback in the country for 08, will not continue to provide better and better results? We shall see, my dim-witted friend…
You talk about “little girls”? Look in the mirror Buffette… Your team is the girliest joke in any major conference right now…

I’m not going to argue about who has the tougher schedule, both teams have a tough road ahead of them this season. However, it’s pretty funny that you question a guy who writes for the Sporting News and counter with Olin Buchanan from Rivals.com. I don’t know who either of them are, but that’s not a real strong rebuttal.
June 6th, 2007 on 3:45 pm
Fair enough, Gampp, but who does CU play in the Top 25 even? Florida State might sneak in around #25, ASU and CSU will be unranked, and Miami (Ohio)? Please…
Nebraska plays consensus #1 USC, #2 Texas and Top 20 Wake Forest.
There is no contest in strength of schedule given the pre-season polls. That said, it was your dumb ass fan Kidd A-hole who brought this discussion up. I don’t think CU has a bad strength of ooc schedule, but it is absurd to try to rip on Nebraska’s schedule…
June 7th, 2007 on 4:18 pm
BSMC? Whats that stand for? …”Buffs Slap Mr. Chuckster”. Hey little buddy (yes, you are like Gilligan) lets not get so excited that your AD Peterson got lucky 7 seven years ago, by scheduling USC, Nevada and WF. Lets see, 7 years ago…SC sucked, Nevada was nobody (kinda like you) and Wake Forest was the Temple of the conference. So, yeah nice luck of the draw that all 3 programs turned it around. Should I tell you who CU has played, No that would be childish.
Oh and MR. RB. You are a gem. How are you going to take it when NU lose’s 2 of their first 3?
LIKE A LITTLE BIZZO. How many times have you seen schedules that look top 20 but turn out to be flops? Plenty.
The best part of all is that you fools have Shawn Watson. I cannot wait to see what he does with Gabbert after blowing it with Ochs. So lets see, New QB, New OFF. Line, New RB (you’ll be lucky to get Lucky) and New Off. coordinator. Yep, things will be a cakewalk for you and the rest of the NU trailer park dwellers.
June 7th, 2007 on 7:52 pm
Whoa there Kid, the whole double-post thing shows how stupid and reactionary you really are. And the personal attacks? Really, please show enough class to keep your posts about “football”…
Our new QB, Sam Keller, by the way, is infinitely better than any player on the Colorado team, and widely accepted as one of the best pro-style QBs playing in college football this year. The offensive line returns several starters, I hate to break it to you, but Lucky is not “new”, neither is the receiving corp that compliments Keller and will absolutely rip the pathetic CU defense to shreds this year.
You are so so so very unintelligent on so many levels. Way to represent the Buffalo nation. You call us “trailerpark”? I find that more than hysterical considering your scumbag, beer-swilling, tire-slashing, fight-starting, need to be cleared from your own stadium by the thousands, nationally known worst fans in the country, peasant trash fan base (such as yourself evidently).
Please Kid… Do you really want to compare programs, schedules, history, accomplishments, etc? Bring it on, idiot, you’ll get squashed, just like the Buffs when they play the Big Red!
See you in November. I’m sure your team will have 8 losses again by then.
And since you ask, BSMC stands for “Buffs Suck Monkey Cock”, again, just like you…
June 7th, 2007 on 7:58 pm
Ok, Kid-A-hole, let’s come back to this thread after week 3 of the season. Let me guess, you’ll be nowhere around with your little peanut brained head in the sand…

Purify suspended after arrest on suspicion of DUI
I am sure that is a typo, because just like Osbourne ala Lawrence Phillips, I am sure he will be playing in game 1. So don’t cry like a brat BSMC.
So the question is: How do people from Nebraska think that all is well Redland? New QB, New Off. coordinator, New RB’s (Lucky in 08?), New Oline and now the top WR suspended. Hey, drink the Koolaid folks.
Sam Keller left because he couldnt hack it at ASU. Just like Joe Dailey at NU. So, please don’t come off saying your not worried or concerned about the that high powered offence. How many sacks did they give up last year?
and yes Arbys, I will be back on this thread after game 3.
June 8th, 2007 on 8:11 pm
Yeah, yeah Kid, let’s talk about corruption in our programs (since you clearly don’t want to talk about history, successes, national championships, heisman winners, or recruiting, oh I wonder why?). You can cite 2 examples of bad apples in the entire history of NU. Meanwhile the University of Colorado program is well known nation-wide as being tied with Miami for the most corrupt program in the history of NCAA. Can you say r-a-p-e, scandal, financial misdealings, and general corruption permeating your entire AD?… Again, you’re an idiot…
June 9th, 2007 on 6:29 pm
Ok, let’s get this straight, Kid Buffaloe…
You also attempt to lament the new aspects of Nebraska’s program, as if they are somehow a negative and not a clear example of increased talent and recruiting (you also failed to respond to the last 3 highly nationally ranked recruiting classes at NU). I think just about every college football expert in the country would disagree, considering ALL of the pre-season rankings.
TOP TEN REASONS KID BUFFALOE IS LITERALLY DUMBER THAN A FENCE POLE…
1) Your first point in this thread is trying to rip on Nevada and Wake Forest. Both teams that were far and away better than CU last year.
2) Your next point is some kind of apparent joy or satisfaction you, as a CU fan, got from the Nebraska/ Missouri game of a few years ago. Talk about pathetic and living in the past.
3) Your third point is that Gabbert is irrelevant, in your obviouse wisdom “he will probably get hurt or leave”. Brilliant, this is based on what exactly? He’s a 6-5, 230 power player that has never been injured and has shown above and beyond his committment to NU. Hmmm, brilliant there Kid-Zero-IQ.
4) Fourth you seem pretty confident that 2 win Colorado will somehow beat FSU on national tv. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Noles, but they’re not exactly any kind of power-house these days. And the line on that game will be, well, embarassing for the Buffs at least. Again a pretty funny one, Kid.
5) Fifth, you say, in all caps, that Nebraska should “play a man’s schedule little boys” and “we should have a schedule like that”. I think we already covered the strength of schedule facts, there buddy.
6) Another one of your brilliant points, is that Colorado, Missouri, and Texas will “kick Nebraska’s butt”. What is that based on exactly?.. NU’s overall record against CU and MU? Or maybe last years Husker wins over CU and MU? Or maybe NU’s complete dominance over both Missour and Colorado throught the history of the games they have played? Maybe you could clarify that again? And Nebraska vs. Texas last year was an amazing game that NU won in many aspects and statistics. UT was the lucky team last year, did you even watch the game?
7) Then you launch into a tirade of personal name calling and attacks. Predictable when an ignorant fan can’t justify any of his opinions with facts.
9) Then, my personal favorite, you bring up corrupt and troubled players, the most hysterical part of your ignorance considering the history of the CU program!
10) And last but not least, Kid…just how many games did your team win last year? Who have they recruited? Who is their starting quarterback? And, who has their new peon head coach beat at any major BCS level? I think we all know the answers to these questions as well…
See you in November, Special Ed…
June 12th, 2007 on 2:18 pm
What a little baby you are ARBYS. Name calling? Check the thread to see who started all that “idiot” rebuttal.
Obviously you hear what you want, and denial is just not a river in Egypt.
Its odd that 2 win Colorado is on National TV for the first 3 games of the year. It seems that Network TV likes CU’s Schedule a little bit more…maybe out of habit, since year in and year out CU has one of the hardest skeds in the nation.
So, Arbys, you got lucky scheduling this years slate from 7 years ago, but take a look at the last 10 years. Certainly, even you cannot argue the point, that over the years, CU has had a tougher Non-Conf Sked. Just look at last year.
How can any fan of college football call the tradtional NU schedule tough?
Who has Callahan beat in the top 25?
Let me give you quick (and I mean quick)lesson:
The Cornhuskers finished 8-4 during his second season and won the 2005 Alamo Bowl by narrowly (uhh, Lucky comeback) defeating No. 20 Michigan, 32-28. The 8-4 Wolverines were the highest-ranked opponent that Nebraska had beaten since a 20-10 win over No. 2 Oklahoma in October 2001, the year Colorado scored 8 rushing touchdowns and put the most points on NU until Texas Tech hung 70 on ‘em. The Wolverines also were the highest-ranked opponent beaten by Nebraska outside the Cornhuskers’ home field in Lincoln since a crushing 66-17 win over “Power House” Northwestern in the 2000 Alamo Bowl.
So thats your reality, living in the past. I suggest that next time, do some homework, instead of firing off missles like a Bushie claiming terroism.
Oh, and by the way. 38-0? Red vs. White? Are your coaches that stupid? or your defense that bad?
With that kinda point spread, Something is amiss. Please explain that?
Hugs and Kisses
June 12th, 2007 on 5:47 pm
Kid, you talk about “hearing what you want”? I have never met a more convulted thinker so far on this site (a bold statement) than the Kid Buffette! You avoid the facts in every exchange with Ralphie Bites.
First of all, for the record, you did start the name calling in post #2 (Cornhead, Chuckster, Flatlander, etc.).Next you accuse us of clinging to the past at the same time that you try to use the past of CU to make your point. That makes so much sense.
And since you want to give us a “history lesson”, let me give you a history lesson…
Let’s look at all of the significant categories in our comparison of programs. Who has the edge in National Titles? Um, Nebraska by factor of 5. Who has the most Big 8/Big 12 Titles, um Nebraska by far. Who has the most Heisman trophy winners, um Nebraska again. Who has the decided edge in recruiting, both past and present? Um, Nebraska. Who owns the overall series 47-17, um, yes you guessed it… Nebraska. Every single category kid, every single one.
Seems to me there are two points that you are trying to make. Nebraska and Colorado of the present, and Nebraska and Colorado of the past. Nebraska of the present is exponentially better than Colorado of the present. No legitimate analyst in the country would disagree with that statement. Secondly, Nebraska and Colorado of the past. Nebraska of the past is obviously not only exponentially but infinitely better than Colorado of the past, again no contest or debate there.
You make no sense, dude. You want to make it seem like CU is a player in this sport and somehow better than NU. Trust me, they are not. You are delusional. There is a reason that Colorado has lost 8 of their last 11 (soon to be 9 of 12) games against Nebraska…

As if everyone in the country didn’t already know CU as the most corrupt athletic program in the land, here we go again…
http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=926958
Cheating scumbags. Colorado is yet again THE embarassment of the Big 12. You would think with a town as beautiful as Boulder the University wouldn’t have to continually, year in and year out, have to resort to illegal activity to attract or keep athletes.
Please CU, please please please quit the conference. The 12 would be so much better off with CSU or Air Force. Anyone else.
Funny too how there is no thread anywhere to be found on buffs.tv about this national news regarding CU.

I think you’re stretching this a little bit there. It’s not like they were paying players (like OU) or providing free rent (like USC). There was an oversight and a number of WALK-ON players got to eat for free at the training table. I’m not even sure why this is even an NCAA rule. Why shouldn’t the walk-ons get to eat the same as the scholarship players? Anyway, CU self reported the “infractions”. If they were the most corrupt program in the land, they would have covered it up like other programs do.
As soon as you can bring in facts to support your outlandish claims that this happens year in and year out, I’ll take your ramblings seriously. CU has not been in trouble with the NCAA any more than most programs and has been in a lot less trouble than others (including Big XII members Oklahoma and Baylor). I also don’t want you countering with the rape allegations. That’s what they were, allegations. The case has been thrown out of court and in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. Lucky for you the NCAA doesn’t hand out penalties for players who punch girls and get DUIs all in the span of two weeks.
June 22nd, 2007 on 8:50 am
Arbys, calm down. So they got an extra piece of pie at the dinner table. How cheap is the NCAA? My god, give the boy some pie. Lets face it, you would be an idiot, not to think that NU doesn’t do the same. I wonder how much crap goes on, that the community of Lincoln covers up from the media? I cannot imagine. So please back off the “holier than thou” attitude. It’s old and tired. Like the NU mascot. Geez, Will ya’ get that guy a new costume at 6 flags!
June 22nd, 2007 on 10:11 pm
How can a legitimate major university have an “oversight” of this magnitude over such a span of time? This is either extemely pathetic and unprofessional incompetence in running the athletic department, or a sad attempt to provide some extra benefits ot CU athletes under the table.
Secondly, in your attempt to package this as such a “minor” infraction, it is in fact a “major” infraction resulting in probation and lost scholarships. (When has Nebraska been on probation, or lost scholarships, or cleared sections of the stadium, etc.?)
The University of Colorado has also indeed been in the spotlight of trouble with the NCAA and the nation in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. If that’s not a history of a corrupt athletic department, then nothing is.
And Gampp, to disregard the sworn testimony of several female students of CU about the rape allegations is both offensive and degrading to every female student on that campus. Everyone knows that the rapes and sexual incentives offered to recruits in the 90s were a fact at CU. The most horrific part of that whole chapter at CU was how those girls were threatened, bullied, villified, and absolutely dumped on in the coverup of the decade to coerce them into dropping the charges. All these years later, all of those girls stand by their statements and the University of Colorado should be forever embarassed by how they were treated.
June 23rd, 2007 on 10:02 pm
Kid,
I am pretty certain that I am not an “idiot”, and I know for a fact that the University of Nebraska is competent and professional enough to manage the basic rules and requirements of the NCAA. The NU athletic department is nothing but professional and completely above these moronic “oversights”, as are hundreds of other institutions. Not really sure how CU finds these things so difficult. And for the record, media coverups and coercion are the norm in Boulder, not Lincoln.
On a lighter note, thank you for my new handle, Arby. I kind of like it.
June 26th, 2007 on 9:48 am
Glad you like the new handle Arbys, I like it too.
Allegations are allegations. We do not need your best “Dr. Phil” or “Jessie Jackson” on ethics and self righteous behavior. Every body is a saint at NU, and no one farts in front of the kids.
So many people like to live in bubbles and forget the fact that this crap has been going forever, using sex to entice an outcome. Not just in Football. People say things to get noticed and draw attention to themselves (sound familiar Arbys?)in order to be a muckwrecker. Yea, that’s what these broads did. I wouldnt be surprised if these women transfered to Nebraska…and ate for free at the training table with 3 cheers from Shawn Watson, Ted Gilmore and the other (Holz) Buff turncoats
That topic is worth a string of it’s own…Hawkins needs to have a clause in his assitants employment that they cannot go to another Big 12 school. Especially Lincoln. Its like outsourcing our jobs to China or India. It will screw you. Arbys, are you going to finally agree with me?
June 26th, 2007 on 7:13 pm
Ok Kid, no not everyone at NU is a saint, not by a long shot. And yes we are talking about college football. However, compared to CU, Nebraska’s athletic department and football program in particular are far far far more professional and storied at every level, both on and off the field. Truth be told, I really do wish CU could get it’s s*** together and stop embarassing the Big 12 on such a consistent basis. It would be better for us all.
If you are looking for agreement on whether there should be a rule prohibiting “outsourcing” between our two programs, then yes I agree to that in a heartbeat. We don’t need anyone that has been tainted by CU involved in our program. Agreed.
