Today is National Signing day and Dan Hawkins and his staff managed to get 27 players to commit to the University of Colorado. Highlights include OT Ryan Miller, a Colorado kid that is one of the best lineman in this recruiting cycle. In all the Buffs managed to sign 8 offensive linemen, a position that depth had always been an issue under Barnett. Joining Miller on offense, 3 WR’s committed to Colorado. Markques Simas has size and hands to make an impact immediately. Kendrick Celestine has the speed to give the Buffs a certifiable deep threat. Josh Smith is a wild card, he’s big, but played in a run oriented offense in high school so his stats do not reflect his talent. PT Gates is a junior college transfer that can step in and help a running game find its identity. The Buffs get some defensive line help in the form of ends, Lagrone Shields and Conrad Obi. In the secondary Lamont Smith and Anthony Wright should be able to come in and compete right away.
