Game Day – ASU
filed in Game Day on Sep.16, 2006
Well, if the Buffs win today we will make some huge headway when if comes to confidence and respectability. Regardless, there are some great matchups out there today. 4 games pit the Big XII vs the Pac 10. IT will be fun to see which conference fairs better.

Go Buffs! Oklahoma is going to get drowned out in Autzen stadium. Remember Michigan a few years ago? Nebraska is going to fight, but U.S.C. is loaded. If any game is primed for an upset it’s the Colorado Arizona State game. Arizona State may fall asleep on this one.

Well I live in AZ and all but any person with an IQ over 15 knows that some fool whities are responsible for the buffalo slaughters of the late 19th century. ‘Sup my name is I slept through history class and now look dumb everytime I open my mouth. Therefore I cannot believe anything you say there Mr. Historically challenged. But I am sure the Buffs will handle those silly sun devils. What is a sun devil anyway? Is it like a dust devil? Oooh I am scared now….

Look for CU to get a big contribution from an improved offense today that, combined with excellent defense, will bring victory over the Sun Devils!! After that a surprise victory in Athens will ignite one of the most incedible turnarounds in recent college football…yeah! Go Buffs!!

ASU was great to us. They tried giving us that game and our Offense is so anemic we could only manage 3pts; on the 1st series; AFTER a turnover flipped the field!!! Bernanrd Jackson is not the answer. He’s too quick run – forgetting to check his progressions, an inacurrate passer and makes mistakes in critical situations (ala yesterdays fumble and INT). To his credit, the hype of our O-line this preseason being a “a returning group that’s finally had time to gel” doesn’t seem to be panning out. There were only a couple of snaps Jackson actually had time to pass if he didn’t create some room for himself. Bright spot – Hugh Charles. Kid has some wheels. Find some ways to work in more screens and dump passes to him. No more bench…Keep him in coach.
Props to our Defense. Big play after big play. We just need to tell them that in addition to keeping us in the game, they’ll actually need to start scoring our points too. Credit our ends and linebackers. These guys are playing phenomenal. Billingsly and Sims are playing well but I still see us getting burned on crossing routes. We got lucky for ASU dropping a few wide open over the top passes.
I think Hawkins is going to need a few years to get in the talent he needs for his system on offense. The land of instant gratification will have to take a seat here. It’s painful but it’s reality. Hawkins will get us there. Be patient Buff fans. Most importantly, GO BUFFS!!!

Good assessment Lomaboy. If not B. Jax, who though? I don’t think pulling Hawkins’ red shirt and throwing him in is the answer because he’ll have to do a lot of learning too. Our D deserves some serious props for the way they played. They kept serving up opportunities to the O and they were just incapable of capitalizing on anything. I’d have to agree that the O-line might be the biggest disappointment on the team and I’m wondering if they’re ever going to step up. Still, I’m not on Hawkins’ case – he’ll get it righted, but this is just painful to watch. Best possible scenario is to not get humiliated at GA and then to hopefully have our act together enough when Big 12 conference play starts. Look on the bright side, we’re still undefeated in conferene play;-)

Big ups to our D. They hype is real on them. Too bad they can’t play offense to. Thank goodness the Georgia game is not nationally televised. Maybe Hugh should’ve red-shirted this year, so he could’ve been part an actual offense.

An accountant, a lawyer, and a cowboy were standing side-by-side using the urinal. The accountant finished, zipped up and started washing and literally scrubbing his hands… clear up to his elbows… he used about 20 paper towels before he finished. He turned to the other two men and commented, “I graduated from the University of Michigan, and they taught us to be clean.”
The lawyer finished, zipped up and quickly wet the tips of his fingers, grabbed one paper towel and commented, “I graduated from the University of Colorado, and they taught us to be environmentally conscious.”
The cowboy zipped up and as he was walking out the door said, “I graduated from the University of Nebraska, and they taught us not to piss on our hands.”

Sigh. I guess some people are just slower than others. Let me explain it so you can understand: The joke intends to promote the superiority of NU by saying they don’t piss on their hands in the first place. It’s an old joke we’ve all heard a hundred times before with a different cast of characters. However, you’ll note that he says “at NU, they TAUGHT us not to piss on our hands”.
Now I don’t know about you, but I learned not to piss on my hands when I was a just a wee child, not in college.

Why would anybody want to put the Hawk’s kid into the mess in boulder??? He should have left him in Boise playing for a top 25 team and maybe a BCS bowl chance.

The jokes are funny NU fans. Don’t you have another board to go drown your sorrows on. I seem to remember many additions to our board regarding the dismantling of USC you WERE to inflict. Didn’t happen.
Hope to see some Buffs fans in Georgia. Keep the faith. I’ll be there. I don’t have much hope but we’ve been know for a few good upsets. If anyone is going to Athens…see you there.
