Buffs sign 21 for Coach Hawkins first class. This class shaped up to be a great crop of athletes and a bright spot for the Colorado program. The class is highlighted by Cody Hawkins, QB from Boise Idaho, and coincidentally our new coach’s son. Not all fathers got their wishes though. Darian Hagan signed with Cal. The class is full of seven offensive lineman with Faatagi ready to get started immediately. Jimmy Smith and Cha’pelle Brown have got some great speed in the secondary. Can’t wait to see all of these guys in action in the fall. Although rumor is that Hawkins will grey shirt and start school in Jan of ‘07. Go Buffs!
One side note- scout.com rates the class as 51st in the nation. And 49th by rivals.com. I’d say that is a major imporvement from where we were last week.

Somehow I missed Michael Sipili, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound second-team LB all-stater from Honolulu. He had orally committed to Oregon State. But Colorado assistant coach Brian Cabral persisted and helped pursuade Sipili to head for Boulder.
