Where did Butch Davis coach–the Browns? I can’t remember. I totally disagree with Houston Nut, and I can’t say I’d be too crazy about a coach from high school. The college game is a whole different world from high school. I’m not sure who Bo Pelini is, either. Maybe someone can help clear up some of these names for me.

Seriously, though. I hope Colorado gets a good coach. It would be great to have that old school rivalry back. The one with mutual respect and talented players on both sidelines.
I wonder if they are considering that coach from the KC Chiefs (what’s his name… Sanders?). His name came up when the Huskers were searching and I understand he is a great coach.
Pelini is a hell of a coach as well.
How about the coach from Fresno State, that guy is a great motivator…

thats just what we need,a guy outta high school to come coach CU…at least hed be on the same skill level as Shawn watson. One name from that denver post article today i liked was Stever Marriucci…He did wonders at Cal, got that program turned around, was an excellent coach with the 9ers, hes a real personable and emotional guy who is a real players coach, and could do wonders for recruiting…but Butch Davis i wouldnt mind seeing either!

The best thing to do for the future of Colorado football would be to hire a big name coach (knowing he will probably leave soon after) and also have Dave Logan (Mullen High football coach) be involved in some aspect of the team (coordinator,assistant, etc.). Logan could then take over as head coach and be there for a long time. I still believe it should be Butch Davis. Great recruiter and coach. We are the only team in a BCS, big time conference looking for a coach, maybe he will take it.

The more I think about it, not only is money an issue for a big name coach, but is Colorado still an attractive enough job to get that big name coach and keep him here. It’d suck to land a Mike Price only to have this be a stepping stone on his career rebuilding…he bolted washington st for alabama once before, so he might coach here a few years and move on to greener pastures….unfortunately loyality in college football is hard to find

Whoever said Neuheisel should be shot. The thought of Mariucci brought a smile to my face, but I don’t think he’d be interested. It had better be someone with some thick skin, because I fear we might be in a “re-building” state for a couple of years. I wish we would’ve scooped up Tyrone Willingham. Who else do you guys think?

Let’s remember Gary Barnett for the his class and ask our new AD to remember what he experienced tonight with Gary. He could have taken the classless approach that ‘our’ coach prior to Gary had, slivering out the back door with nothing more than a wave to his players. Gary Barnett did the University of Colorado right and like Bohn stated, it is in the best interest of CU to make this move now! Our best to Coach Barnett and our request to Mike, is to make us proud of our next coach! It’s in everyone’s best interest for Gary to move on and CU to move into the next phase, for recruitings’ sake and the best of the program.
