If the Iowa State Cyclones beat Kansas on Saturday they will get to face Texas in the Big XII Championship game. Best of luck, as I would prefer to not see Colorado on national television for a while.
UPDATE: The nightmare continues in Texas next week.

I agree with Marc…No wait…I changed my mind. I hope Kansas wins so we can show the country again how pathetic our fans are. Maybe we can throw more stuff on the field. Or maybe we can run out on the field during the game as we are losing by 60 to Texas in the championship game. Maybe we can have stripers IN the student section so we can recruit better players so we don’t lose to NU by 27 at home. At least our record is 17-45-2 against NU. Oh wait — counting today, NU OWNS CU 46-17-2. Happy thanksgiving.

I am embarassed to call myself a CU fan right now.
November 25th, 2005 on 5:45 pm
I’m in shock over that loss. I just cannot believe the way the team represented themselves and the University today. Then, to pour salt on the wounds, the CU students showed the entire country how classy they really are. I’d rather not have that team go to the big 12 championship and embarrass themselves. What they need to do now is pray for a decent bowl game. Man I’m so disappointed. What a terrible way to end a very promising year.
*sigh*

Honestly, let by gones be by gones and leave the past alone chauncey. Seriously, these players deserve more respect than that. Speaking of players….most seniors play with much more heart their last time at home. All I wanted was just a game with heart, and there was just from the other team. And about Klatt playing on Sundays next year….playing what? His new xbox 360 they’ll all be getting? There is no way with how he has been playing that we will be seeing him out there along with the best in the game. Sorry, Klatt…try baseball again or something.
November 25th, 2005 on 6:33 pm
One question………was Coach McCartney running the clock right before half-time?
Thank you Bill for setting us up for failure. CU fans need a lesson in sportsmanship!
I am embarassed to say I watched the poor showing….and on national tv!
November 25th, 2005 on 7:04 pm
I hope that none of the Nebraska fans were faced with more of this behavior after the game. The only thing worse than what I witnessed today, would be similar behavior from Nebraska fans next year in Lincoln.
November 25th, 2005 on 7:08 pm
As a Husker fan I can assure you that there a couple of knuckleheads in our stadium too, but that was pathetic. CU, it’s football team and it’s fans should be ashamed. I have had the misfortune of going to a couple of games in Boulder and today illustrates perfectly why I won’t go back. I’m sure the scene got much worse once the Husker fans left the game and the hooligans were waiting outside. I will refrain from judging all Buff fans on the actions of a few, but when 2 sections of fans are removed from the game, it may be very telling of the environment as a whole.
You can make fun of Nebraskans all you want, make fun our state and fact that we are farmers, but I would rather associate with the good people here instead of what was seen on National Television today.
And how about the guy running the clock at the end of the first half? What a joke.
From the beginning to the end…shame on you.
November 25th, 2005 on 7:23 pm
Just wanted to say it is sad to see fans to do what happened at the game. A few yes, Im sure most CU fans are not like that. Nebraska has the best college fans no doubt about that. Only once have I seen that and it was when Osborne got on the speaker system and told the fans to knock it off when the fans where throwing oranges on the field. Why didn’t Barnett do that?!! I don’t know if Callahan would either. Lucky no one got hurt. You won’t see this in Lincoln next year I hope!
November 25th, 2005 on 7:30 pm
Every potential recruit at that game should walk away. Go anywhere you don’t have to worry for your safety from idiotic fans. A total embarrasement for Colorado and college football – all teams on the schedule to play in Boulder next year should refuse to play there – hit the university where it counts – $$$$.
November 25th, 2005 on 7:55 pm
damn, i dont know who sucks more, cu fans cu fottball or husker football. Bill Callahan and barnett fans can all kiss my arse. does anyone from these schools remember what big time football use to mean. Ive got husker fans making excuses for Bill Callahan and the product they throw on the field and CU fans acting like… well CU fans. I liked it better when two well coached teams came out and kicked each others butts and that was that. not throat-slashing or tossing things on the field. both coaches must go so NU can get back to Kicking CU and it meaning something like a trip to the National Championship. Not bragging rights on who had to prom date with the most teeth for this years dance.
November 25th, 2005 on 9:11 pm
I don’t know who is worse, colorado fans or oklahoma fans. I have never met a respectable colorado fan under 25 years old. That school continues to be an embarassment to the Big 12.
November 25th, 2005 on 10:02 pm
Hopefully the embarassement for Colorado will bring about changes so this doesn’t happen again.
It doesn’t need to happen and shouldn’t happen.
The announcer was right when he called them by “a few idiots” but unfortunatly it blackens the whole school.
November 25th, 2005 on 10:09 pm
i dearly hope that ISU wins colorado doesnt deserve another national t.v game let alone a shot at a championship. my family has had season tickets for 41 years i am i ashamed to be a CU fan. even more so then when we lost to baylor. this game was pathetic, the fans, the “football” if you want to call it that now go buffs go get a who gives a crap bowl game
November 25th, 2005 on 10:22 pm
This is yet another strong signal that things need to change in boulder. We need to start at the top by ridding ourselves of our terrible leadership. Every time we go on national tv we find away to bring shame to the state and the university. I don’t even think I want to see the buffs or our fans on tv for the bowl game.
November 25th, 2005 on 10:38 pm
That was an appalling display and there ought to be some serious consequences for the losers who did it. Then there’s your team trying to pick fights with Nebraska during pregame warmups.
Perhaps Nebraska should get some lovely rings made with “30-3″ inscribed on them.
Order restored.
November 26th, 2005 on 7:47 am
Pathetic doesn’t even begin to describe Barnett, CU players, and CU fans. This program always has been and always will be a joke. The Big 12 deserves better than a trash talking, classless, hate filled, violent, and cry baby program such as Buffs football. Their hatred for NU just highlights the contrast between themselves and the best fans in college football at Nebraska. Maybe now they should change their lockeroom code to 0-3-3-0!
November 26th, 2005 on 8:30 am
I’m a big time college football fan who happens to live in Nebraska. I love big twelve football and regularly cheer for any big twelve team when their not playing Nebraska. I have been to 3 CU games in Boulder both as an NU fan and an unbiased observer. As big a colleage football fan as I am, I will never return to CU’s stadium again. It is ridiculous how opposing fans are physically assaulted by CU fans both in and outside the stadium. This has been going on for over 25 years and it was obivious yesterday that it is never going to change. It’s sad to see such a beautiful campus act so immature on gameday. Sorry I will never see another game in Boulder.
ps. I did happen to be in Fort Collins 3 weeks ago and had a great experience in the CSU stadium!
November 26th, 2005 on 1:01 pm
RESTORE THE ORDER!
Thank you, once again buffs fans for showing on national tv what little class your school, team and fans have.
Nebraska beats CU – and all is right with the world!
Go BIG RED
November 26th, 2005 on 1:25 pm
What can I say that has not already been said? As a recent graduate of CU I find myself consistently defending my university in arenas ranging from academics to the football field. I am tired of trying to justify the actions of this place. My only satisfaction is knowing that I am not classless, only guilty by association.
How do we change this? We can look to our leadership, we can continue to criticize our students, but that is only talk. The fans out there that do have class need to step up to the plate. There is no shame is telling an opposing fan, “Let’s have a good game today.” when walking to Folsom. There is also no shame in conceding, “Wow, you guys really took it to us.” on the way out of the stadium. These are small gestures, but a place to start. I am probably preaching to the choir here, but I am not sure what else to say.
Random thoughts… what about some sort of fan coalition to promote sportsmanship before, during and after games? Not sure what this would look like… but I am just trying to find some way to spin this so that I don’t walk away from this game never wanting to be a CU fan again.
November 26th, 2005 on 2:12 pm
Well ISU just lost, so we should probably make the 6 embarrassments for the year
November 26th, 2005 on 2:16 pm
Does anyone remember the game in Boulder, November 2nd 1991. I remember a tie 19-19. I remember the CU fans throwing snowballs onto the field in the final seconds as Nebraska tried to win with a field goal. I’m sure it had an effect on the outcome. I truly dread games in Boulder and will never understand that behavior.

November 26th, 2005 on 3:36 pm
I was torn today, wondering if I should root for the Cyclones, so I could feel good about my Huskers helping to keep CU out of the championship game. In the end, I decided that I’m happy that KU won though so I can watch CU get trampled next weekend by the Longhorns. Also, in response to the ridiculous actions by CU’s moron fans, Gary Barnett simply said that they felt the same way the players did, only they had things to throw. I don’t know if that means the Buffs would have thrown stuff if they had it or not, but I do know that it sure sounds like he was excusing their actions. Corrupt programs aren’t corrupt in spite of their leaders, they are corrupt BECAUSE of their leaders. Happy Thanksgiving Buff fans. Thanks for the fried buffalo…tastes like chicken.
November 26th, 2005 on 3:46 pm
First of all, the Buffs played absolutely horrible, period. They simply did not show up to play and made a Nebraska team that is mediocre at best look like a team of all Americans. Nebraska played a good game, but they were not exceptional. It was much more the exceptionally bad play of Colorado that caused the game to turn out as it did.
As for the fans throwing things on the field, I personally did not feel it was anywhere near out of hand. The kids were frustrated, threw a few water bottles on the field and stopped as soon as they were asked by the P.A. announcer. Not a big deal. It happens at many college games around the country and you dont see entire student sections being thrown out. The officials overreacted and ended up creating unecessary problems for Boulder police and the university by kicking out two entire sections of rowdy, already angry college students. This officiating crew never seemed to be on the same page throughout the game, which made them look really incompetent. I don’t think they made any more bad calls than are made in an average game and I am by no means trying to blame the loss on bad refs, but it seemed like they just didn’t have it together. Many flags were followed by longer than normal conferences between the officials which drug the game out for what seemed like forever. It was like it was their first day on the job or something. I feel they badly mishandled this incident and people are now making the CU student section seem way worse then it actually was.
The guy I feel worst for though is Lawrence Vickers. Senior captian, team leader, arguably CU’s most dangerous offensive weapon and the guy doesn’t get a single carry? And on senior night to boot. Ridiculous. Something is seriously wrong with the play calling here. They call him the Versatile back because he can do so many things, but in one of the biggest games of the year his totals are 0 carries and 2 receptions for 5 yards. Someone tell me how that makes any sense whatsoever.
Hopefully this team finds some way to get back to playing the kind of football they were playing earlier in the year. We dominated a Texas A&M team who gave Texas a run for their money yesterday, but right now we are playing nowhere near the level we played at in that game. The Buffs really need to get it together this week and avoid being embarassed two weeks in a row on national TV.

To all of the obnoxious and relentless hate-filled venom spewing Buff fans out there who represent the
worst of the worst in college football (yes that includes you ryno): YOUR
PATHETIC
BUFFS WILL
NEVER BE ONE OF THE MOST STORIED AND SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!
GO BIG RED! GO BIG RED! GO BIG RED!
November 26th, 2005 on 4:02 pm
Teddy,
You are right, most of the fans did stop throwing water bottles after the announcer asked them to. But I think the question really is, should the announcer have to ask people not to throw things onto the field? I do remember a couple of years ago a referee getting hit in the neck by a frozen orange and having his neck broken. Is this not a big deal? water bottles are heavy, and could be dangerous. Sure it is a long shot, but this kind of behaviour should be dismissed so out of hand.
I personally have attended one game at Folsom Field as a 10 year old and was told to F*** off at the concession stands. I have never spoken with anyone who had a positive experience attending a game in Boulder. I think this says something about the fans, the team, the coaches, the university and the community. When teams visit Boulder, it is easy to see why they think the C stands for classless (much like the N stands for Knowlege).
Their are a couple of knuckelheads in Lincoln on Gameday, but you can count on one thing. We will applaud when your team departs the field.
November 27th, 2005 on 3:27 am
Herbie
Throwing objects on to the field is clearly dangerous, but how much safer is forcing over 5,000 angry college students to leave a game early? The referees issued an official warning to the fans to stop throwing things, and they did. Then, for some reason, they still felt it was necessary to kick them all out. I don’t buy the safety argument because they put a lot more people and property at risk by overreacting and dismissing the students. Also, it looks like the “perfect angel” Nebraska fans, as they seem to think of themselves anyways, were doing the EXACT same thing just a couple of weeks ago after a controversial no-call. http://www.publiustx.net/item/2356 (read the last paragraph in the throat gesture story) Maybe you NU people should pay attention to what your own fans are doing before you criticize CU fans.
I have personally attended many games at Folsom and have not witnessed any more rude behavior than is to be expected at a big college rivalry game. College kids + alcohol + rivalry = rude behavior towards opposing fans no matter where you go. Nebraska fans love to rip on CU fans for being classless, but in reality you will probably find that every team has about the same ammount of disrespectful fans. Just like the water bottle throwing, I’m willing to bet that there are Nebraska fans that do the exact same thing as CU fans.
November 27th, 2005 on 7:17 am
I’m a Sooner fan who has followed OU to every stadium in the Big Twelve. Fans at Folsom Field are by far the rudist and worst sports in the nation. I’ve seen them dump beer on families, throw piss filled balloons at fans outside the stadium and my buddies car was severely keyed. I’ve been to two games in Boulder and will never travel to another game there. I watched the CU/NU game, the officals had already warned the fans and coaches to cool it. The officals asked Barnett to go onto the PA to calm the crowd and he refused. The crowd continued to throw things and come onto field, so the officals had no choice. Hopefully charges will be filed also. It’s fine to verbally agitate opposing fans, but the way Buffalo fans continally physical harass opposing fans, teams and officals is absolutely uncalled for. It’s ironic that all this behavior does if hurt your team and recruiting in the future!
Sooners will Rule in 2006!
November 27th, 2005 on 8:43 am
In response to teddy’s post dated Nov. 27 03:27 AM. He writes,”I have personally attended many games at Folsom and have not witnessed any more rude behavior than is to be expected at a big college rivalry game”. What does that mean? This is what I’ve always said about Buff fans. They see nothing wrong with this behavior and that’s what is to be expected from Buff fans.
November 27th, 2005 on 12:56 pm
As an avid college football fan for my entire life I have been to games at every university in the Big 12 over the past 10 years. To say that there is no more rude, disrespectful, or violent fans in Boulder than any other place is a ridiculous statement. Colorado Buffalo fans are hands down the nastiest and scumiest anywhere in the conference. There is no way to argue that point. Get a grip, Buffs, you are the bottom of the barrel in terms of college football fans and everyone knows it. At least there is anywhere from some to a lot of mutual respect among NU, OU, ISU, KU, KSU, A&M, OSU, Baylor, UT, TT, and MU. Boulder is a whole different ball game. CU is a complete embarassment to the conference. Go to hell Buffs!
November 28th, 2005 on 10:30 am
Well that didn’t exactly go the way I had planned. The Buffs looked mentally challenged and the Huskers, well, they came ready to play. The Huskers rose to the occasion and then some while the Buffs slouched beyond pathetic. Well played Big Red…well played indeed.
As for the fans…totally inappropriate. Trading verbal jabs back and forth is great; it’s what should happen before and during big games. But it’s always done with the ideals of good sportsmanship as a guide. When it turns physical or reaches a point where it becomes a public nuisance or threat it becomes totally unacceptable.
I have always been the first one to admit that CU seems to have an unusually high number of fans that exhibit poor judgment in expressing their frustrations. Not too mention we can hardly fill our small stadium sometimes let alone travel well at all. And I will tell you, having seen games in at least half the Big 12 stadiums, Nebraska fans have the nicest fans around. I’ve engaged in some verbal sparring many times before and during games with Nebraska faithful but it’s always been in jest and all in fun and most often, win or lose, you can count on Nebraska fans to show you hometown hospitality after each game in Lincoln.
How does CU, as a collective body, solve this problem and make it OK to admit being a rabid Buffs fan again? Hell if I know right now. But hopefully it will be in the forefront of each and every CU fan, player, coach and administrator’s mind from now on.
As for those of you that kindly browsed to our humble little corner of the interweb and then proceeded to condemn and slander an entire program, school and fan base, I say this: thank you but we don’t need any help with that. Take note of the last few paragraphs here, and in fact the majority of recent comments from CU fans, pay special attention to us eating crow. Note that we are not all bottle tossing, tire slashing hoodlums and in fact we recognize and avoid poor sportsmanship whenever we see it. Realize that you really cannot fight fire with fire. Your name calling and hateful comments lumping all CU fans and students in with the bad apples and belittling the hard work our players and coaches have put in this season makes you no better than the two sections of students kicked out of the game Friday.
Sure I talked my shit before the game, all in good taste and fun, but coming here and kicking us while we’re down, while we’re ashamed and admitting it, singles you out as being just as classless as those students. This is a public forum and I am not asking for your mercy nor condoning or dismissing the actions of some of our fans. I’m simply pointing out the irony of using poor taste, judgment and sportsmanship to combat the poor taste, judgment and sportsmanship of some fans on Friday. If you want to rub in how you beat us, go ahead, we deserve it. And if you want to make a comment about how bad our fans acted, you’re right, we’re all embarrassed and it’s already been said. Talk smack about how bad we looked and how bad we’ll lose to Texas, just keep it above the belt and don’t embarrass yourselves.
Hugs and kisses once again,
Ryno

Well said, Ryno, there may be hope for you after all. Looking back at some of your posts from the not too distant past though I still think you are a hypocrite. November 30th, 2005 on 6:35 pm
Just a quick note. I’m from Oregon, and a Ducks fan. Now, until just a few years ago (thanks, Mr. Bellotti), UofO *cough* wasn’t very good. However, at Autzen Stadium, a good schellacking by, say, UCLA or USC was met with minimal resistance.
My wife and I have since moved to Nebraska (about 8 years ago), and have both watched on TV and in person games at Memorial Stadium and Folsom Field. I applaud both team’s performances in these rivalries–the players give up a lot of time, sweat, and public scrutiny to play and be jibed when the team loses.
Football’s an easy game to love, but c’mon, folks, keep it in perspective. No one’s an angel here; but if the kind of behavior on Friday (and, to be fair, at other games at other institutions at other times) isn’t dealt with, what will it say for the NCAA? What lessons does it teach the kids, those watching and attending?
Just food for thought.
On a positive note, you folks have a great rivalry going here–and fun to watch the play on the field. Even better than the Civil War game, I’ve gotta say. At least on the field.
November 30th, 2005 on 8:31 pm
Wow
Some of these Nebraska fans need to come down off of their high horse and actually take a look at themselves. Ok, so you clap for both teams when they leave…nice gesture, but for some reason you think it makes you god’s gift to college football. LOOK AROUND..I am going to post this link again and I want you to take a long, hard look at it. http://www.publiustx.net/item/2356 NEBRASKA FANS THROWING WATER-BOTTLES ON TO THE FIELD DURING THE OKLAHOMA GAME! No big deal right? But for some reason, when CU fans do it you make it seem as though they are a murderous mob. Also, lets not forget it was your fans who were responsible for the “Sal is dead, go big red” chant, one of the most classless, insensitive chants in college football history. Now, I am not as ignorant as some of you and therefore I am not going to try and stereotype your entire football program, school, and town as a bunch of classless morons based on the actions of a few. However, I think it is important you realize that even your fans are not perfect and in the future you should not be so quick to judge and stereotype the entire city of Boulder based on the actions of a few dumb CU fans.
December 1st, 2005 on 7:57 am
Teddy, Teddy, Teddy…
You my friend are in complete denial. There is no comparison in the overall fan image between NU and CU. There have never been entire sections of Memorial stadium cleared during a game because of hundreds and hundres of classless fans. You somehow think that it is just a few at Buffs games. Have you been to your own stadium on any given Saturday? Are you blind and deaf? This has been going on consistently for years. No comparison. Buffs are nationally known as drunken violent haters. Just ask around
December 1st, 2005 on 10:32 am
The Longhorns (like the Huskers) are about to take the trash out! (again)
December 1st, 2005 on 12:27 pm
Wow, these buffs fans, especially Ryno and Teddy must be living in some fantasy land. Criticizing the buffs fans and their program for this disgusting performance is perfectly acceptable and is in no way comparable to the poor sportsmanship illustrated by 5,000 of CU’s finest. Seriously CU, get it together for the sake of the conference and your university.
December 1st, 2005 on 1:22 pm
And to those Buffs who say not to critize their entire program for just “a few” fans: Who then made their program’s locker room combination 6-2-3-6 as a crass attempt at seasonal motivation? Who then brought hammers to Lincoln and left them in complete disrespect of the Huskers in their own house? Who then against any semblance of sportsmanship and respect last Friday crowded the midfield barrier during warm-ups and started talking trash before the game? If these things are not the responsibility of the players and coaches, then who? Self-respecting teams don’t constantly revel in such tasteless displays. True rivalries can exist without hatefilled disrespect. At the University of Colorado it truly is the fans, the athletes, the coaches, and the administrators combined that have brought this well deserved reputation down upon the “mighty buffs”.
December 1st, 2005 on 1:28 pm
Excuse me I meant “criticize”. Forgot to proof my own post. Oh, well. F*** the Buffs Forever!
December 1st, 2005 on 2:48 pm
For the record, order restored, beer is not sold inside the stadium, except in the luxury boxes.
December 1st, 2005 on 6:00 pm
It’s interesting how even after pointing out several incidents where NU fans have acted without class, all I see are more postings attacking CU fans, no attempt to defend your own school…..and you say I am in denial? Its nice to see you are at least admitting it is a rivalry game though.
Oh yeah, and you know what makes you look really smart? Attacking Colorado for having classless fans and displaying poor sportsmanship in a message board post, then signing said post ‘blow me buffs’ and proceeding to write “f*** the Buffs forever”. Picture perfect illustration of the hypocricy displayed by NU fans that I was talking about right there. Thank you for proving my point, “Blow Me Buffs”.
December 2nd, 2005 on 7:52 am
Teddy,
You are soo funny. Let me clarify for you, fan site weblogs ARE the appropriate place for talking smack about your program. And Lord knows that you guys spew more than your share of venom here. It is only fitting that when you pick a fight you get a little back. Your problem though is that you confuse this with your behavior in the stadium and on the field. How exactly did I prove your point? We are not the ones who go to games devoid of any sportsmanship and drunkenly eager to pick fights and display horrific fan behavior. On the contrary, we go to games and show nothing but welcoming respect to the opponents and their fans. You say that we do not bother to defend the same behavior from our program. Well, Teddy, that is because it does not exist to even a fractional degree compared to CU. Do you really think that Callahan’s throat-slashing gesture vs. OU equates to your entire program’s history of pathetic behavior. Let me assure you that there is a difference between one minor incident and an entire culture of violence and poor sportsmanship. So go on deluding yourself if need be, but everyone in the Big 12 knows the difference between the Buffs and the Huskers.
GO BIG RED and F*** THE BUFFS!
December 2nd, 2005 on 11:42 am
Teddy,
There is nothing to defend. People don’t get injured in the NU stadium and cars from Colorado aren’t destroyed afterwords in Lincoln. You need to get some serious perspective on just how disgraceful the CU fan base is. CU, apparently, has done little to change this culture of disrespect and unsportsmanlike behavior because it has only gotten progressively worse over the years. Last Friday illustrated that to the entire nation.
December 2nd, 2005 on 12:26 pm
Enough is enough. For 10 straight years I attended the Colorado Nebraska agame home and away. Nebraska did win most of those games and let me tell you while some Husker fans were gracious in defeat, there were plenty that weren’t. In Lincoln, I have been hit in the head with a hot dog, nearly been physically assaulted in the parking lot, and had Buffalo magnets stolen from my vehicle. My personal favorite is when I watched two fans piss in the sinks at the stadium.
Nebraksa fans are not the angels that you would like them to be either. As illustrated by the article about Husker fans throwing water bottles on the field.
No this does not make it right or justify any actions. The thing that is intersting is that the emotion and ranker comes in both instances from college students. Alumni at the Husker games have been welcoming, even in defeat. One year I was even invited downstairs for pickles. But the same can be said of the Colorado fans. More than once have I offered beer to opposing fans both before and after games.
But yes, there are vile vile things that are said and done by students at college football games. One doesn’t need to look hard to find examples from all around the country.
http://www.ncaa.org/news/2003/20030203/active/4003n01.html
http://www.fanblogs.com/penn_state/005882.php
http://www.umich.edu/~urecord/0304/Nov03_03/04.shtml
Emotion levels are high and sometimes things get out of hand. It is not acceptable.
But it is weird, because the number one reason that I enjoy college football is the emotion involved in the game. Pro football has none of the emotion of college football. Momomentum controls the game and any team knows that it is possible to come back from 4 scores behind. The tide turns so quickly in college football because the players are young and vulnerable to emotion during the football game. And as fans we know that if we cheer and sing loudly enough we actually may have a significant impact on the game.
Go Buffs!

Yes these behaviors occur at every venue in varying degrees during isolated incidents. But I don’t think anyone who has been to both Lincoln and Boulder for football games can intelligently deny that these instances of poor behavior and arrogant violence are exponentially greater at CU than anywhere else in the Big 12.

New transfer to CU here (Junior). I had hoped the University could avoid further embarassment. An individual should be proud of the school they attend and be able to stand by it regardless of petty offenses. But last Saturday was not petty in the least, it is embarassing to all of us – the alumni and the entire state, the entire conference, and the NCAA in general. Thousands, even millions, find themselves disgusted by this latest childish, petulant act. Even more of an embarassment is Barnett’s inability to bring anything or anyone under control. Someone wrote that they hope for a CU loss tomorrow, I would suggest that despite hopes for a decent bowl game, we must admit to ourselves that CU doesn’t even so much as deserve a football team, much less the opportunity to represent us at a bowl game.

Just for the record, CU is not Nebraska’s rival. Nebraska’s conference rival always has been and always will be Oklahoma. In order for it to be a rivalry the win-loss ratios need to be a lot closer than the pathetic showing CU has made against the Big Red over the years. Not to mention the mutual respect that would need to exist. Sorry Buffs, you can use all the red letters, hammers, and locker room codes you want, but you still are decades and decades and decades away from being Nebraska’s true rival.

teddy,
for the record there is a major difference between the article you provided from some paper i’ve never heard before from somewhere in texas (which also has a picture of howard dean holding pink t-shirts!) to what happened in boulder. first, during the NU OU game i never once heard the the abc sports announcers calling the fans idiots or warning the sideline reporter to get out of the student section in fear of her life. second, the only thing i ever read or heard about being thrown on the field during the NU OU game were fack yellow flags from out of the student section that landed next to the officals (the editor of the university’s paper promptly ripped into the students at the game in the first article written after that weekend, saying he never wanted to see actions like that ever again within memorial stadium). finally, the actions in lincoln were out of frustration because of a clearly blown call in a GAME NEBRASKA STILL HAD A CHANCE TO WIN, something that can not be said about the CU game.

I live in nebraska and i have always been a Buff’s fan,and a Cornhuskers fan. A few times it has put me in a bad situation, but I always made the best of it. Ispent a lot of money out there and I will never return again. I watched the bowl game last night and was real happy to see Clemson kick your ass. It will be the last time that Colo. will be on my TV EX COLO. BUFF’s fan
