Colorado Buffaloes Host Iowa State Cyclones

The Colorado Buffaloes welcome the Iowa State Cyclones to Folsom Field this Saturday (11:30 am MDT, Fox Sports Net). Both teams are winless in the Big XII and both will be looking to gain some respect in the conference.
Colorado has yet to find an offense that can consistenly put points on the board. CU is next to last in the Big XII in the Red Zone, often losing the ball on fourth down conversion attempts. Failing to finish drives on Saturday could make for a long, disappointing afternoon.
Adding to the Buffs’ offensive woes will be a strong ISU defense. The Cyclones have only allowed 118 yards / game rushing which will prove to be a challenge for Senior tailback Bobby Purify. Purify is coming off a shoulder injury and says he will be ready to play hard. “We know we have to rebound and start getting the ball in the end zone more often. We have to finish off our drives and start playing like we know we’re capable of”, says Purify about the Buffs’ offense.
If offensive blunders, a hurt tailback, and a tough ISU defense weren’t enough, the Buffs will be starting an inexperienced quarterback, James Cox. Cox took over QB against OSU last weekend after Joel Klatt had to leave the game with a neck injury. Cox’s performance was good enough (especially passing) to cement the start this Saturday.
The Buffs will need to start the game right with strong play calling from recently-humbled Shawn Watson. With an early lead, CU can rely on the defense to complete the team on both sides of the ball. The game will be tough, however, as ISU will be looking for revenge from last year’s massacre (44-10) in Ames.
Go Buffs!

Somethings funny here, Shawn Watson accepts full responsibility for our offensive woes, yet we’re not making a change at offensive coordinator instead we are changing quarterbacks.
