Depth: The Lines
filed in Depth Chart on Aug.31, 2004
The lines control the outcome of a game. This year we may have an advantage there. On offense, we have a group who has remained injury free and has been solid throughout camp. They all have game experience and won’t need to take 9 games to gel. Look for this to be a huge boost to our running game. On defense, we suffered a huge loss when Harris transferred. But McChesney won’t let that hurt this group. McChesney is this year’s Tyler Brayton. Look for him to draw a line on the field and not let the opposition past.

I agree with most of your evals of the team and the depth. The ones I take exception to is the line. Both sides were pretty horrible last year and they need to make a vast improvement to get anywhere. The O-line was really terrible, they couldn’t even block long enough for Klatt to take a five step drop. Hopefully the experience of last year helped because they need a running game too. Calhoun was a dancer, pretty lame anyway and it is good he is gone. Purify and Vickers should be able to do the job pretty well if they get the blocking.
