Jeremy Bloom wrote an article for The Sporting News detailing what he’s learned over the past two years. Nicely done.

Very nicely done. Good job Jeremy and good luck in Turin. Its a shame the NCAA is so ruthless to not promote the student athlete, but do everything they can to ruin ones dreams.

Great article. Really sucks that they won’t allow him to play.

Well… it will be interesting to see how this turns out to be Nebraska’s fault. Seems like everything always is. This is just another fine example of the true caliber of alot of athletes nation wide, who really aren’t team players just players who believe their own hype. If it really was just about playing, the skiing endorsements would have been stopped and football would have been the kids main focus. Others have played pro-baseball and then college football, but didn’t the endorsements stop during football? There just aren’t that many Bo Jacksons or “Prime Time”s that can end up at the pro level in both. Do we like the NCAA’s decision? …well that depends on how a player views themself. Finally, I think a smart step toward making the Buff’s image a kinder and gentler one, would be to get rid of the black in the football uniforms, you know the black that every team has added to their uniforms (Pro and College) to look more intimidating. It just isn’t helping. Remember the blue and gold?

I think that this decision by the NCAA is about
as un-American as it can be. I enjoyed watching Bloom play and held my breath every time he took the field to return a kick – exciting stuff. Best wishes to him – skiing’s gain is football’s loss.
