Q: How can you make hard nose tackle football more like ice dancing?
A: The BCS
It’s the talk of the nation. #1 USC will not be involved in the national title game. Unbelievable. I think CU fans already know exactly how USC is feeling.
Is this the end of the BCS? Discuss

Say what you will, Oklahoma is by far the best team in the nation this year. In fact, before saturday night, all anyone could talk about was how they were possibly the greatest team of all time. Amazing how quickly it can turn. One game can’t erase an entire season, and of the three teams with one loss, the two most deserving are in the title game. Not that it matters either way. All three know that if they win, they get at least a share of the title.

zb, if you’re not the best team in your conference how can you have a claim as the best team in the nation?
And Marc, I would say Oregon knows more what USC is going through, they were the 2nd best team that year

That the BCS does not account for conference championships (or lack thereof) is simply wrong. Until that is changed, however, remember that teams who win still can make it to the title game. And please don’t complain about the Huskers going to Rose Bowl two years ago without remembering two little words: Fresno State.

Huskerboxer,
You’re totally contradicting yourself. You said its wrong that the bcs doesnt account for conference championships, if i remember correctly, Fresno St doesnt play in the big 12. Nebraska does and they didn’t win the conference. Come to think about it, they didn’t win their division. Colorado did, as well as the conference.

Keeping in mind that I am a diehard buff fan, I have to ask how you can actually content that OU wasn’t the best team in the conference this year. Just like I doubt many people would argue OSU was better than Miami last year.

zb, OU is probably still the best team in the nation and will beat LSU, however the fact remains that the big 12 has a champ game and for that game to have any meaning(besides money) it is quite silly for the loser of that game to be the national champ

Brett – no foolin’ you, is there?
You must be a rocket scientist. Of course, Fresno State doesn’t play in the Big 12. The point is that if CU had taken care of Fresno State that year (remember, CU finished with 2 regular season losses) then the Buffs would have played in the Rose Bowl rather than finishing a hairs breadth behind the Huskers in the BCS rankings. As it turned out, both the Buffs and Huskers were shown to be other than national champs that year.

If you don’t win your conference, you can’t play in the National Championship. Period. Point blank. It should be LSU vs. USC. Bottom line. OU snuck in the backdoor the way Nebraska did 2 years ago. It’s B.S., but so is a computer selecting who plays for the title.

Is it verse or is it fiction? What a question. airfare The most essential fact is that this is a story, credit card a love story told by poet and novelist Carson (Men ski vacation in the Off Hours, 2000, etc.) in 29 brief, lyrical car rental “tangos” (which are kind of like stanzas, only a plane ticket lot more romantic) that have little quotations from hotel Keats in front of each. Basically, it’s Girl-meets-Boy, vacation package Girl-gets-Boy, Girl-and-Boy-grow-old-and-get-tired-of-each-other.
