Let the Smack Talk Begin
filed in Rivals on Nov.18, 2003 by Marc
I can’t stand them. You can’t stand them. In fact, even their own fans can’t stand the Huskers right now. That is how bad they suck. We even have the chance to send Frank Solich packing on November 28th.
Do you realize that Nebraska is a measley 15-12 since we delivered that program crushing blow in 2001? They haven’t been able to get it together. I for one would like to keep it that way. They have been humiliated in the last few week and are in a downward spiral. I see no need why we shouldn’t push them down just a little further.
Smack it up!

The best part is that you are probably right about Solich being on the way out. Nothing can take a good program down faster and further than swapping coaches every couple of years. I love it.
November 18th, 2003 on 12:21 pm
I would like to give a shout out to the buffs best player come November 28, Jamal Lord. This guy is the worst qb ever. He’s a decent running back and that’s about it, if the buffs can force the pass we’ll see a lot of three and outs and hopefully some picks.
November 18th, 2003 on 12:31 pm
I think it is too bad if they get rid of Frankie and that Jamal is a senior. As long as they are there we have a better chance of beating up on them. I know Gary Barnett is not perfect but he is a hell of a lot better coach than Solich! The ironic part of that is that most Husker fans agree with me. GO BUFFS!!!!!!

I am very happy we delivered that program crushing blow to NU. My biggest concern is that everyone is saying we are going to win. I dont want that confidence going to the teams head. I want them to win as much as anyone because i live in omaha. I have always loved the buffs but i worry every time when it comes to nebraska. I dont care how we do it i want this game. I dont want a let down after we have been playing so much better lately.
Go Buffs Kick the corn!

Maybe we should do a where are they now of former Huskers…ya know the good ones like Crouch, and Lawerence Phillips.

I love you guys.
November 18th, 2003 on 8:12 pm
tbrayton is that you Tyler??
How’s Oakland? I know the team is having issues but how’s CA in general? Man we could use u on d-line.
The key to our 4-2-5 defense is that the front four has to get penetration. Therefore the QB would have to get rid of the ball with 7 guys in coverage. Our front 4 has played better recently.
However, how is the 4-2-5 suppose to stop the option??
U guys are right, Jamal Lord may be CU’s most important player of the game. Boy he sucks…
November 19th, 2003 on 2:28 pm
Ive always wanted to be at a CU game where the field was covered in snow. I hope it snows a bunch on thanksgiving (but without closing the roads).
November 20th, 2003 on 9:21 am
I will execpt no less than another nebrasssskicking on the 28th, and just let me say this cause I love the sound of it so much, 62-36
November 20th, 2003 on 11:10 am
I have to admit Buff fans – I talked some major smack on this board the first half of the season…even though I still hate CU football more than anything else on this Earth, I have to agree that the Husker football program is in shambles – and that CU will beat the crap out of my beloved Huskers in about a week..it’s too bad. I’m not disowning my team, but I am facing reality, something a lot of Husker faithful can not seem to do these days.
If any of you CU fans had a chance to watch the KSU debacle last week (Besides being overjoyed, I’m sure), you may have noticed that Nebraska simply doesn’t have the athletes it did – besides that, our offensive scheme is pathetic and the lack of motivation that plagued our players so much last year has crept back in a big way. I attribute the above three factors to the coaching staff – they recruited these guys, our one-dimensional offense can not survive with mediocre linemen and sub-par I backs. Jamaal Lord is absolutely the worst quarterback in Nebraska history and Frank is too damn stubborn to pull him out – his stubborness will and should send him packing. There are a plethora of young coaches out there with some fire and motivation that could possibly lead Nebraska back to the promised land – we need to find one….NOW.
In any case, Buttahole fans, I will congratulate you now for the ass whopping you are going to put on us 28 November…

Shawn,
I think we all understand how you feel about us as most CU fans feel the same way about NU. I am glad to see you posting a well thought intelligent comment regarding the game instead of trash talking. I don’t know what the score will be – remember the any given day rule. Most of the CU fans still remember how close we came to winning for several years but could not get it done so we know better than to count on anything. It will be interesting to see what the line on the game will be.
November 20th, 2003 on 12:56 pm
Shawn,
You are not a husker fan and the fact you call yourself one makes me sick. It’s fans like you that make CU talk more smack. Shut the hell up and keep your comments to yourself.
November 20th, 2003 on 1:07 pm
Hey HuskersRule it’s not fans like Shawn who make us CU fans talk more smack it’s four little words

November 20th, 2003 on 2:51 pm
How about the fact that we have won 43 of the 61 times we have played you. NU OWNS Colorado!!!
November 20th, 2003 on 2:58 pm
NU only has cornfields, thus no money. You could never really OWN us. We’re a better school and we have more money. We are better Americans. And right now, were better football players too.
November 20th, 2003 on 3:03 pm
Stop living in the distant past, Check out NU’s record since 62-36, CU started the downfall of the Once Mighty Huskers program and on the 28th they’ll end the Solich era completely.
November 20th, 2003 on 4:29 pm
Good posts buff fans. Amazing how one game sticks on the minds of all buff fans and how that score is so important. A true asskicking for sure, but don’t forget – we’ve had some lopsided victories as well. I’m coming to Boulder this next friday and can’t wait to see a half empty stadium. An 11:00 AM game, hehe, will anyone be there? The only time it’s full is when nebraska comes in #1 or #2, which is quite often actually.
I was at the 2001 thrashing and barely got out of there alive. Got some skiing in at eldora – not bad. This year i can see much the same thing, though I’m hearing rumors that freshman QB Daily will play much more – he’s our future.
Go Big Red!
November 21st, 2003 on 10:00 am
Should anyone tell BloodRed that the game is at 10:00 am local time?
November 21st, 2003 on 10:46 am
Hey Huskersrule…
You are obviously in that category of Husker Fans who can not let go of the past – you are riding the laurels of past success just like the majority of Husker nation – including the head coach.
As to address my loyalty to the University of Nebraska – I graduated from Nebraska twice – undergrad and graduate. I have lived all over God’s Green Earth in the last 12 years and have always rooted for the Huskers – while everyone around me was poking fun of them. I have been a season ticket holder for the last two years.
Quite simply stated, I am gravely concerned over the state of the program – I hope I’m wrong and the Huskers pound Colorado next week. I have developed such as pessimistic attitude with the program. You, and many of the other faithful, have ridden the coat tails of the success from the Osborne era that you are failing to see that Frank Solich is not the answer – not by any means. In a sick sense, I hope a mediocre at best CU team pounds Nebraska – forcing the Steve Pederson (Husker AD for you CU fans) into making some leadership changes. I think the Stoops assistant at OU who is being wined and dined by Arizona would jump at the Nebraska job.
Huskerville – fans like you – in your arrogance and blinders on – make REAL Husker fans look bad.
Go Big Red

I will always let huskers fan’s know the score of the 01 game, which by the way was 62-36, because that game exposed the Husker program and each loss since has just further showed the demise of husker nation. If you guys want a coach once Solich get’s his after the whooping NU get’s against CU and in their bowl, look at Joe Glenn Head Coach of Wyoming right. He’s won at every level and already has made Wyoming respectable.

COLORADO IS GOING TO BE EATING CORN ALL DAY ON SATURDAY!!!!!
EVEN IF YOU SHUTDOWN THE OFFENSE THE DEFENSE WILL EAT YOU ALIVE….
YOU HAVE BEAT NU 3-4 TIMES IN THE PAST TWENTY YEARS. AND ITS NOT EVEN WHEN NU IS THAT GOOD.
WHERE WERE YOU GUYS AFTER 91′
November 24th, 2003 on 11:15 am
I seem to remember beating NU 62-36 when the huskers were the #1 team in the country.
November 24th, 2003 on 12:51 pm
We have never beat NU three years in a row. If our guys don’t already have enough incentive, let this be another goal!!!
November 24th, 2003 on 12:58 pm
Actually BuffLady, we beat them in 1956, 57 and 58. Not much there is to brag about, but it has happened before.
November 24th, 2003 on 1:18 pm
That was a little before my time but thanks for the info.
November 24th, 2003 on 5:32 pm
I look forward to the day when CU fans support their team year in and year out and the evidence of that will be when the stadium is full regardless of the record or the opponent. When that happens (or should I say IF) then the Husker nation can consider the Buffs worthy of rival status. Until then, the Huskers will continue to measure themselves not against the current version of the Boulder 22, but against the National Championship standards they have set for themselves – The same measure that truly great programs (Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, etc) measure themselves by.
Having said that, can CU win this year? You bet, the Huskers are ripe for the picking. It should be a close game. I am more interested in seeing how many of the CU “faithful” actuallly show up.
November 24th, 2003 on 5:48 pm
SO, LORD AND SOLICH WILL BOTH BE GONE NEXT YEAR. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT LORD PLAYED HIS HEART OUT EVERY TIME HE TOOK THE FIELD. SO HE COULD NOT HIT HIS RECIEVERS, HE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO LOOK FOR THEM!!!!!!
EVEN ON THE OPTION, HE HAD NO TIME TO SPOT THE TRAILING BACK, THE OFFENSIVE LINE ARE THE ONES THAT LET THE HUSKERS DOWN, ALONG WITH NO RECRUITING WORTH A CRAP FOR THE LAST 4 YRS.
REMEMBER, LORD FOLLOWED A HEISMAN WINNER, AND NO ONE, NOT EVEN ELWAY COULD HAVE FOLLOWED CROUCH. NOT THAT I BELIEVE CROUCH WAS ACTUALLY THAT GOOD, I AM ONLY STATING FACTS AS I SEE IT.
I TRULY FEEL THAT THE HUSKER FANS OWE LORD AN APPOLOGY FOR THE BOOING AND THINGS SAID ABOUT HIM. HE IS A HUSKER, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, AND HE PLAYED HIS HEART OUT. TO BAD SOME OF THE OFFENSIVE LINE DIDN’T DO THE SAME.
AS FOR THE BUFFS, WISH THEY COULD WIN THE NORTH, THEN THEY COULD PLAY OKLAHOMA AND LEARN WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.
November 25th, 2003 on 12:48 am
Billy , what are you talkin’ about boy?
CU DID play Oklahoma this year, and they played them prety damn good too(OK’s 2nd closest game of the season). Nebraska on the other hand has had yet another season filled with cream-puff minor conference opponents (i.e. Troy State, Southern Mississippi, Utah State). All three of their losses have come from the only decent teams on their schedule! Clearly, nebraska is a broken program that cannot win a game against a decent opponent. I for one am very proud that CU was the team that delivered the blow to this program with that 2001 62-36 blowout(i had to mention it). Hopefully this friday another similar game is in store. It sure is great to see big bad nebraska sliding fast down the hill to mediocrity.
November 25th, 2003 on 1:40 am
This is my official appeal, as a student at CU, to all Buffs fans, to show up to the game early. I’m sick and tired of seeing the stadium start to fill up after 10 minutes of the game. We need to be present and LOUD for the Nebraska game. I don’t care if it’s 10AM. The stadium should be full by 950 and the seniors deserve to be greeted by every single fan when they enter Folsom Field for their last time. Yell as loud as you can when we
November 25th, 2003 on 12:18 pm
You know, bleednblackngold, when Nebrasksa wins this Friday, your point will be proven – that the Huskers cannot win a game against a decent opponent – they will have once again beaten a marginal one. Here’s hoping that they get to play better opposition in their bowl game.
November 25th, 2003 on 3:29 pm
John Hessler is awake, and is in medically stable condition. He even told people he’s going to watch the game on Friday. Come on boy’s win this one for John this week.

NU 24
CU 17
Should be a good game!!! GO BIG RED!!!!!
November 27th, 2003 on 1:24 am
huskerboxer,
I will admit that CU is a marginal team this year. However, they are on their way up. Personaly, I would rather have a team that is getting better than a team that is headed straight down the shitter. Also, take away nebraskas weak ass non-conference schedule and replace it with one as tough as Colorado’s and they would very easily be a 6-5 – 5-6 team.
Quit playing middle-school caliber teams you pussys
November 28th, 2003 on 8:37 am
Yes, Colorado did crush NU that year, but you guys keep on saying how NU is 15-12 since that well how about CU’s record of 14-12 since that game. So if it was such a big blow to us why do you guys still suck.
November 28th, 2003 on 1:52 pm
Adam, you hit the nail on the head. The Nebraska program and booster demand domination and 10 win seasons. The Colorado program is complacent and content with a 14-13 record over the last 2 years.
It is a mental difference between the programs. And CU must change their attitude from top to bottom if they expect to continually contend with Nebraska and the Big XII.

November 28th, 2003 on 7:52 pm
bleednblackngold – hope your blood loss isn’t too great. Get off the schedule argument. CU got to play the weakest of the weak (Baylor) and couldn’t find a way to win. The CU team played well today, but got outcoached (especially in the first half) and got beaten by a superior team (just like CU was the superior team the past two years). The biggest disappiont today was Marwan Hage and his comment “I hate those guys.” As team captain, he should have a bit more class. One final comment…………

Notice how the Buff fans dont talk shit anymore now that we kicked their ass on friday??? I love it.
November 30th, 2003 on 12:35 am
At least we know when to stop talking shit. Win or Lose, NU would still be talking about it. Go ahead and be real proud you beat a crappy CU team. So what. The rest of us are probably doing a lot of other things besides talk football smack. We do have a life outside of football (unlike NU). I’m glad we lost- after a dismal season like this one, maybe it will help make some coaching changes and make the players work harder for next year.
November 30th, 2003 on 1:44 am
Hahahahaha!!!
Just saw the headline about solich being fired
Seeya later frank, have fun coaching high-school!
As for NU, i’ll admit you outplayed us on friday. Congrats for the win and I hope you enjoy it because it might be your last for a while. Good luck rebuiding your program!
Well, football season is finally over. After a pretty poor year luckily we can turn our attention to our school’s other successful athletic programs (i.e. basketball, skiing, cross country). Everyone except for nebraska that is, due to the fact they don’t have any other successful athletic programs. One more reason why CU is a much better college overall.
GO BUFFS

December 17th, 2003 on 12:51 pm
We beat Colorado.
We beat Gary Barnett.
We revenged last year’s loss.
We beat the Buffaloes at Boulder.
We won a Big 12 conference game.
We kept CU from going to a bowl game.
We gave CU a losing record for the season.
We ensured the Huskers another 9 win season.
We earned a trip to a good bowl held in a state (Texas) in which the Huskers recruit heavily.
July 20th, 2004 on 1:42 pm
Hey BleednBlacknGold,
I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Coach Bill Callahan really seems to know what hes doing. I live not to far from him and his family and i have watched a practice since my brother plays for NU. They looked really good and Bill Callahan seems to be in good relationship with his fellow staff and players. I believe the new “West Coast Offence” may just be a hit.
Go Huskers!

LOL wut is colorados record this year??? 2-10 i think??? hahaha the huskers have crushed u guys 2 years straight and has one back to back bowls. what can colorado say .. nothing? ya u beat us in 2001 but what have they done since then? Huskers are at least going in the rite track now. at least they have a winning record.
