Tech Passing Through
filed in Pre-game on Oct.31, 2003 by Marc
It’s Halloween today, which mean tomorrow is Fan-Tastic November. November is traditioanlly the month of the Buffs to shine. We’ll be looking for them to go undefeated in their four games to make a bowl game. Anything less and the Buffs will be sitting at home over the holidays.
The Red Raiders will prove to be a formidable road block along the way. B.J. Symons leads the nation in 8 passing categories. The CU Buffaloes rank 111th in passing defense. Tech averages over 600 yards per game in total offense. The Buffs don’t flinch about giving up over 400 and have provided career passing days to at least 4 opposing quaterbacks.
On the bright side, the Red Raider’s defense is about as porous as CU’s D. They are allowing an average of 224 rushing yards a game this season. If we can establish Calhoun and the running game we could get ourselves into an old fashioned shoot out. The Buffs will need to finish every drive with points and control the ball and the clock to keep our D and the TT offense off the field as much as possible.
The Buffs showed up to play last weekend (made me wonder where they had been in the weeks prior) and hung in with the greatest college football team in the nation. SO which team will show up this week? You got me. I don’t think Barnett knows either. He has put all of the onus on his players and we can only wait to see whether CU will come to play or lay down again.

Hope the same team that showed up against OU shows up this time. If so, I figure we got a shot at least.
No shot? Chip, getting whipped in the Mascot voting. Go here to stem the embarassment:
