Team Weaknesses

These count 3 fold. And there is no other way to look at it. We are weak at offensive line, quarterback and linebacker.
On O-line, Marwan Hage has returned and will be the heart and soul of the Buffs line. He has gotten his crew together five days a week for 90 minute practices that he has run all summer long. That is dedication and let’s hope it pays off, because the rest of line has little game experience and are injury prone. Moore, O’Neal, Stemrich and Allis are the other probable starters but we will see time from any lineman who can play. College football is grueling and everybody will need a break with the amount of time we plan on spending on offense.
At QB, there is no quarterback controversy here. Joel Klatt will be under center this year, and I think we will end up liking what we will see. 21 year old Klatt is going to need to mature quickly back there because there is no time for him to feel it out. He will need to prove himself quickly as his first game is a must win scenario. He can feel good that his backs and receivers are spectacular, but he may have to scramble a ton before the offensive line can really stop the pass rush. Once again. his performance may be determined by the O-line
Finally, the Buffs have very little depth at linebacker. Sean Tufts is there and he could have a record setting year if he can stay healthy, but both Hollis and Washington are unproven with little game experience, If you look beyond that Ackermann is the last man standing. Thanks goodness the new defense only calls for two LBs.
If two of these weaknesses solidify look for the Buffs to be at Arrowhead stadium in December.
