CU in the polls
filed in Rankings on Jun.26, 2003
Well, we really haven’t talked much about the preseason polls around here. The main reason for that is, well, the Buffs haven’t been in many of them. And I can’t blame the analysts out there. The Buffs lost almost their entire offensive line, their backfiled and the QB. Not too mention a first round draft pick on the defensive line. Yes, their are holes to fill, but apparently we impressed some scouts in the spring because we are creeping into the rankings.

We’re creeping into the standings because we are buffaloes, roaming the golden fields of wheat, slowly, deliciously, invigoratingly, devouring ourselves into two ton beasts that can, in a moments notice, produce a massive stampede of juggling, inhumane flesh, that God himself would say, “Sweet baby Jersus!!!.”

people forget we may be untested, but all the postions have major game experince with the exception of qb, but the guy is 21 he was playing baseball, he isnt just some true freshmen qb with no experience if he settles in and dosnt throw a lot of picks, we got the talent to take the entire divsion

i would think that a CU team that dominated the cornholes for the last two years would be ranked a bit higher. but i guess that really doesnt say much anymore since big red epitomizes mediocrity.

Ah, but as always, your true test will come on Labor Day weekend as you take on the Mighty Rams of Colorado State! While the Rams lost key talent last year as well (Sapp being the biggest loss), I think they will have the upper hand again this year. Bummer of a way for the Buffs to begin – I almost feel sorry for them. Sorry, Ryno.

Nacho – How do you think the Rams will handle being the favorites this year? I know the Buffs usually play a little better as the underdog. And in light of our recent troubles with winning the first game of the season, perhaps this is our year. I can’t remember the last time the Buffs started out the year against a higher ranked opponent. We’ve been a red letter day for teams for the last decade! The Rams could be in for a world of hurt.
