Bloom to announce decision
filed in Players on Jun.02, 2003 by Marc
Wednesday is the day, when we will know if Jeremy Bloom will play football again. Bloom will host a press conference to let the public know. Apparently, Barnett will find out today, so if anybody can give us the scoop, we are all ears.
What do you think? Which way will he go? Let’s get a little informal poll going here.
I’ve heard that there is no way he will continue to play football because athletes do not have press conferences to tell the public they are staying. But that is exactly what Bloom did last year. My personal opinion is that he will play one more year of football. He will turn pro in skiing as soon as the football season is over and rake in the major cash in the spring.
We’ll see/

What about the hot chick factor? While I’m sure being on the pro-tour is great for picking up girls, can it really be better than Boulder?
Seriously… Bloom had some success as a returner last year, but don’t you think he would also like to get some time at receiver and be a more integral part of the offense?

honestly I think that Bloom will not play this year. I know he managed without the money but it did hurt him with his training. Everyone knows he is great on the field and that we need him but if he gets hurt playing football that could be devistating to his skiing carrer.
My hope is that he stays for one last year. With our passing game being more important this year he should get more time reciving.
The buffs need his spirt ant love for football now more than ever.
Go buffs!

While Jeremy has exceptional instincts and that’s important on punt returns, he has missed a lot of time working with the new qb’s which will hurt his ability to make plays at wr. He’s at a point where he must pick one, he can be one of the best skiers in the world or he can be one of the best punt returners in college football….i think i know what i’d choose, but i hate skiing and i don’t think Jeremy does.

I was at an alumni event in New York last Wednesday where Barnett spoke for about an hour. He felt pretty strongly that Bloom was going to play football again this fall and that Bloom and the US Ski team were going to work out some kind of deal where he could get paid without violating ncaa rules.

Skiing is life, and life is skiing for Jeremy Bloom…however; playing football for CU is a dream come true, and if he doesn’t play this year, he will never play competitive football ever again in his life. It’s not uncommon to see people compete in mogul events until their late thirties, and snow ski until their mid 60’s. It’s now or never for Jeremy. I think he’ll pick football for this reason.

I heard that Jeremy Bloom is an a**hole and has a big ego from people that went/go to school with him. Is that true? I would like to think it’s not.

Susannah, Jeremy Bloom has to be one of the humblest, most respectable players in college football. he’s courteous and instead of bashing the NCAA for their unfair treatment of him, he respectfully dismissed it. Jeremy Bloom’s the man!
