Bloom – A CU fan on the snow

Bloom missed the first three World Cup moguls events so he could finish football season with the Buffs. Luckily, Bloom’s outcome at the World Championships was far better than the outcome of the 2002 football season. Bloom placed 2nd — not too shabby for a two-sport guy and at a ski mountain that has been historically bad for Jeremy. The best part is that he wore a gold helmet with CU buffalo logos on both sides. It seems that Jeremy is permitted to accept prize money but not endorsements. I think Oakley, Volkl and Tommy Hilfiger should name him the winner of the annual “Best Jeremy Bloom” contest. Maybe they can just keep buying him lottery tickets until he wins. Great Job Bloom!

Even Better
The next day he returned to compete in the dual moguls competition. Unhappy with the silver in the individual event, he made sure he got the gold in that event.

Even the Iraqis love Bloom. No Joke! Here is an article from the Iraq Daily News. I never thought I would ever be able to legitamately get Iraq and Iraqi as a keyword on this site, but it looks like I was wrong.

I live in Park City and I can’t tell you how cool it was during the Olympic Moguls last year to see Bloom compete on Champion, with not only USA Flags- but tons of CU Banners and Flags lining the course and stands! Great to see the huge support from Buff Country.
