We Have a Running Backs Caoch!
filed in Coaching on Jan.15, 2003 by Katfish
Halleluiah! Shawn Simms (no relation to little Chrissie Simms) has signed on to coach CU’s stable of running backs. Barnett interviewed Simms two years ago for the same position before ultimately going with Bieniemy. “When I started talking to guys about this job, I had him the back of my mind. No single guy had all the qualities I felt like Shawn could bring to our program.” Barnett said.
Simms brings experience from Pittsburgh, Illinois, Miami and Ohio St.
The hiring still has to be approved by CU’s Board of Regents.
Oh, and P-zo, he’s a Kentucky boy out of Bowling Green.

It’s great to have a coach, and a good one at that. First order of business hop on a place and go visit Maurice Drew.

I was glad to see a coach come in, and first on the agenda is for the backs to get tough. I love my buffs, I wish the new coach the best, and the rest of the team the best also. Roll buffs Roll

As long as he’s no relation to Cris Simms then I see no reason why he won’t be good.

Looks like we lost Drew for sure, but we are hot on the trail of Orange County Register’s Player of the Year, Mike Liti. http://colorado.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=15290
