Stop the Bleeding

Chris Brown has left for the NFL. Good luck to you Chris, I know you are predicted to go in the 2nd round, but I’m pulling for first round.
Marcus Houston has requested a transfer to CSU and is expected to enroll today. Good luck to you too. I hope you maintain your health and shine like you were always expected to. Perhaps you won’t see as many injuries in the softer MWC.
Star RB recruit Maurice Drew is reconsidering his committment to CU. I would too if I was him. Bienemey is gone and he has no idea who the new coach will be.

Let’s not get carried away with the Marcus Houston situation. If you look back a few years later most star recruits don’t live up to the billing. I just checked a top 20 RB recruit list for 2000. Of the top recruits, McGahee has been the most productive player by far. Most of the rest have seen limited action, if any. At least one, Ohio State recruit Sam Maldanado, has also transferred.
Houston came in with unbelievable hype and it is hard for anyone to live up to that. The simple truth: he was hurt a lot and had trouble hanging on to the ball. I wish him the best wherever he winds up. Maybe he can rebound like former top RB recruit Justin Fargas after he transferred from Michigan to USC. But the idea that Colorado mistreats its in-state blue chippers is ridiculous. The same year they got Ochs and Houston they also got top recruits Sean Tufts, Quinn Sypniewski, Bobby Purify, Marques Harris and Clyde Surrell. All but Sypniewski were in-state guys and all have had good careers at CU so far.

Didn’t Marcus Houston recently get cut from the CFL practice squad?

He’s not on my linked in. So it is really hard to tell.
