and the winners are …
TACKLING: Clyde Surrell
Number 20 was there to save the day again and again at Saturday’s game. He seemed to fly in from nowhere to make the big hits. He showed his excellent speed by crossing the field to catch Seneca Wallace and prevent a touchdown midway through the first period. I think his leadership bodes well for buffs next year.
TOUGHNESS: Bobby Purify
Bobby stepped up and reminded us all that CU does in deed have more than one threat at running back. Iowa State was the second week in a row that Bobby was on. Purify rushed for 174 yards, scored a touchdown and led CU with five receptions for 51 yards. If he could play this tough every game we might have a Heisman race of our own.
HONORABLE MENTION TACKLING: Brian Iwuh
I found myself checking the roster multiple times on Saturday to answer the question “who is that number 27; he just made a great hit?” You would never know that Joe Swift left the team with Iwuh stepping in the game and stepping up to the challenge. I like the looks of CU
