Tackling & Toughness – KSU
filed in Tackling & Toughness on Oct.07, 2002
My job is extremely difficult this week and wow do I love it! The Buffs played 60 minutes of hard-hitting football that made me proud. The fans were in it, the coaches were fired up and the team executed with skill and heart. Keep it up boys; I would like to take an early December vacation to Houston.
And the winners are …..
TACKLING: Donald Strickland
I was very pleased to see the buffs wrapping

I’d love to write something snappy, dazzle you all with my usual wit, but there isn’t much else to say other than, “Right on!” And maybe, “damn straight bitches!”

Hey, I’m wondering why Barnet is not putting Marques Harris in at Linebacker. I watched the KSU game in slow motion and this guy lined up on the right end, went through the offensive line and made the tackle on an option play going to the left. He was the beagle that ran the Rabbit(QB) out of the pocket so that the SAC in the final minutes of the game could be made possible. He made the QB rush the option play and took the option(ball) out of Robertsons hand, which led to Stricklands Great tackle, And I do mean GREAT Tackle, see it in Slow Motion and it’s picture perfect with a lot of SMACK!!. If Colorado has some talented freshmen let them earn the right to play Linebacker. Free up this Harris Guy so he does’t have to fight a 300 lb lineman right off the get go. Give him some room and tackles will be made not MISSED.

I think you make some good points Curtis. However, I think the reason that they leave Harris on the D-Line is to provide that QB pressure you’re talking about. Harris is the best we’ve got at getting to the QB and we desperately need to get as much pressure on QB’s as possible. We’ll face a number of good versitile QB’s in the coming weeks and I think Harris is going to be a key player from his front line position.

Anyone have a digital clip of Strickland’s 4th down, 4th qtr crush of Sproles? That is the best hit I have seen…ever!
