CU 35 – KSU 31

Well there is plenty of good to say after this weeks game. The Big Play returned to the offense and better yet the passing game was strong. It is official Robert Hodge can throw the long ball. And right after he connected with Brian Calhoun for the first score of the game, the crowd never let up. It was great to hear our crowd roar again, something that we really didn’t have opportunity to do in the last home game.
The play calling was creative to begin the game. Shawn Watson, Play action on 3rd and 1 was brilliant. Next, work on keeping the creativity up for the entire game. I know it is important to be conservative when we are up by 3 touchdowns, but that doesn’t mean 3 and outs are acceptable. A couple of 30 yard drives toward the end of the game there (not reliant on penalties) would have made a world of difference.
Regardless, the defense was stellar when they had to be. Especially on the last two drives of the day. Huge plays by Strickland and Wilder marked the day. Also props to Chris Hollis who stepped in with a stellar performance for our depleted core of Linebackers. Looks like Wahlroos is going to be out for a few games with a dislocated elbow.
Comments. Defense, we can’t let any team have any more 70 yard running plays. period. Chris Brown, you are still the man, way to put the team on your shoulders when you have to. Robert Hodge thank you for helping us forget that other more selfish quarterback.
3 games to prepare for Okalahoma. Let’s bring on the big boys!
