New Number 1 Running Back

Marcus Houston has been named the CU Buffaloes new #1 running back. With Chris Brown out with a concussion it opened the door for a new starter. It looks like Marcus Houston has stepped up tot he challenge.
This is a bit unexpected to me. I would have thought next on the list was Bobby Purify. You remember the guy who ran all over CSU last year. Ya that Bobby Purify. Knowing that Marcus has improved this much makes me wet with anticipation for the CSU game.
Bieniemy is quoted here a saying that Houston has really been focusing on running between the tackles and hitting the hole now, not after a couple of moves first.
That sounds excellent to me.. Go Buffs!

This is a bit of a surprise. I think that Purify fell to #3 on the depth chart when we sat out the spring with an injury. Not that it really matters though, we’ll see all three (and probably four with Calhoun) regularly. Great to see that Houston is back in form.
