It’s hot and dry, and it’s 5,200 feet above sea level, and they just as easily could be lying by a pool somewhere like so many other college students. But they’re running sprints and running shuttles and pulling tractor tires while the thin mountain air in Boulder, Colo., is clamping down on their throats. What genius first called these “offseason” workouts?
